🤝On 30n Dec 2025, we visited Switchboard at their office at to donate the cash earnings raised at the 21/11 gig
🌈While there Switchboard kindly took the time to show us more of their amazing peer-led mental health work that benefits our q***r community. Our funds are helping them to produce and distribute ‘Grief Boxes’, sent out to members of the community in need. (see pic!)
❤️ We look forward to continuing our fundraising efforts for Switchboard's valuable services and thank our community for attending our events. Together we will build community well-being through our events & shared lived experience to make positive change.
Welcome Stranger Events is proud to say we raised over $1000 for Switchboard and $200 for Pay The Rent across our 2 gigs in 2025. This is just the start! We are a proud, q***r grassroots group & look forward to growing from strength to strength in 2026. Have a look at our Expression of Interest Form (link in bio) to book a gig with us or to sign up as a volunteer. We aim to have 2+ events this year, we do not have a schedule and will base our events on demand but roughly 1 around May-June and at least 1 more Sept-Nov. It would be our pleasure to build community with you!
Where does the money go?
Switchboard Vic provides peer-driven support services for le***an, gay, bisexual, transgender and gender diverse, intersex, q***r and asexual (LGBTIQA+) people, their families, allies and communities. They have a range of different programs offering peer-to-peer support in areas including gender and sexuality, diverse relationships, su***de prevention, family violence support, anti-racism advocacy, and social inclusion for older LGBTI community.
