We're supporting new creative projects through our Festivals Development Program.

Artists, producers and community groups can apply for funding up to $10,000 to develop live art projects and creative community activities.

Join artist Judy Kuo for a relaxed drawing workshop that celebrates play over perfection. Inspired by her exhibition 'Not a fine artist, just a "fine" artist,' participants will explore simple drawing and mark-making activities that turn mistakes into creative ideas.

We’re excited to see 2025 Merri-bek Performing Arts Residency recipients Carly Sheppard and Alisdair Macindoe premiere their latest work, The Shepherds, as part of RISING Festival's first Australian Dance Biennale.

Developed during their residency, The Shepherds is a bold and comedic dance work about two lost sheep in a slaughter paddock as they set out to remake Australian mythmaking.

We’re excited to announce the participants for the first In the Making – Performance session!

In the Making is our new arts program where artists share works in progress with peers and mentors in a supportive environment.

Led by facilitator and theatre-maker Liv Satchell, the Performance sessions give artists the chance to test new works-in-progress with a live local audience.
