The orchestra is composed of people from all ages and walks of life including professional musicians, music teachers, students, retirees and those that enjoy music making as a hobby. The Redland Sinfonia is composed of people from all ages and walks of life including professional musicians, music teachers, students, retirees and those that enjoy music making as a hobby. Our aims and ideals are to

foster and encourage the talents of musicians and to bring fine music to the people of the Redland Shire, a locality in the greater Brisbane area. The Redland Sinfonia generally performs four regular concerts in the Redland Shire, along with other concerts by request, which helps make a very busy year. Our repertoire includes a wide variety of classical music as well as a selection of popular light music.

A huge thank you to Redland Arts Council for applying for a grant to purchase a new double bass for Redland Sinfonia. President and Vice President of Redlands Arts Council, Shelley and Jenny attended a rehearsal to present the double bass to the orchestra. The bass was gladly accepted by double bass player Naomi, Artistic Director Nicky and President Rosina.
Come along and hear the bass for yourself when Redland Sinfonia presents its next concert on Saturday September 12th. "Across the Stars" features all your favourite Stellar Movie themes, Science Fiction and Classical works. Join us in celebrating our 40th Birthday and share our birthday cake after the concert.
Saturday September 12th at 6pm in the Concert Hall at Redland Performing Arts Centre.

Redland Sinfonia held its AGM recently and appointed its new committee for 2026, along with conferring Life Membership to several past and present players who have been long serving members.
The committee is as follows:
President: Rosina McDonnell-Tucker
Vice President: Helen Lowe
Treasurer: Coralie Peterson
Secretary: Rowena James
Librarian: Barbara Schmidt
Marketing: Hayley Forster
General committee members: Julie Schmidt and Sue Willingham
Artistic Director: Nicky Griffith

We thank these volunteers for their time and commitment to Redland Sinfonia.

Life Memberships were awarded to:
Alex Avery, past principal cellist.
Dr Graeme Denniss, past Artistic Director
Rosemary Fitzroy, past second violinist (unfortunately unable to attend on the evening but was presented with her certificate at a later date.
Helen Lowe, current V.P. and first flautist
John Tucker, current timpanist

The next concert will be on Saturday September 12th when Redland Sinfonia presents Across the Stars featuring all your favourite Stellar Movie themes, Science Fiction and Classical works. Members of Redland Sinfonia joined 600 plus other dedicated trombonists last Sunday to try and break the world record for largest trombone Ensemble. It was a fun day and the sound of "76 Trombones" rang out across Ipswich. Such a fun community day. Thanks to the organisers and Matt who had the vision.

Beethoven is in the building!😉😉

Or he will be tomorrow when Redland Sinfonia Orchestra presents its Beautiful Beethoven concert at 2pm Saturday at Redland Performing Arts Centre

Be sure not to miss this breathtaking concert. Beethoven's favourite Symphony no 6, The Pastorale, will be performed alongside three of his Piano concertos by three amazingly talented young pianists. Their interpretation of Beethoven and the opportunity to perform with a full Symphony Orchestra is something not to be missed.
The Orchestra has also asked the Redland City Choir to join with them for one work; a collaboration joining two community groups with a united goal.

We'd love to see you to help the Redland Sinfonia celebrate its 40th Birthday. 🎂

Beethoven is going to be alive and well at next Saturday's Redland Sinfonia concert. If you enjoy Ludwig's music, make sure you get your tickets for this exciting concert. Come and hear his Symphony no 6, the Pastorale alongside three of his piano concertos (Rondo movements) performed by talented and up and coming brilliant young pianists.
Also, joining the orchestra to perform Beethoven's song "Meeres Stille und Gluckliche Fahrt" will be the Redland City Choir.
This will be a concert to remember.
By attending this concert you will also help the orchestra celebrate its 40th Birthday year and celebrate Queensland Day at the same time.
Did you know that the orchestra members used to wear maroon accessories when they performed? What a great day to revive this tradition on Qld Day.
