Redland Sinfonia's Gala concert "Across the Stars" was a celebration in many ways. Not only did the Orchestra celebrate its 40th Birthday in a spectacular concert at Redland Performing Arts Centre but the orchestra bestowed Life Patron (in memoriam) on Anne de Carteret. This was accepted by her Godson John Wallington. The inaugural Eugene Pederson Bursary was awarded to Violist Jasmine Kaye and Cellist Rebecca Leonard. Each young lady received $500 towards their musical journey. The Bursary was founded by Gail Schurer, Eugene's daughter. Both these honoured guests helped Artistic Director Nicky Griffith and President Rosina McDonnell-Tucker cut the birthday cake surrounded by committee members.

Watch this space for details of our upcoming concerts on November 15th at the Donald Simpson Centre and November 28th at the Redlands Christian Reformed Church at Ormiston.

Redland Sinfonia is proud to be an Ensemble in Residence at RPAC and gratefully thank staff and crew from RPAC for their assistance in this concert.
