Last but certainly not least is internationally acclaimed soprano Mirusia.
Mirusia is a Redlands local, she graduated with distinction from Griffith University’s Queensland Conservatorium and, at just 21, became the youngest-ever recipient of the Dame Joan Sutherland Opera Award. Soon after, she rose to international prominence as the star soprano with André Rieu and the Johann Strauss Orchestra, performing before royalty, world leaders, and millions of concertgoers. Featured on more than 20 million records worldwide, Mirusia has achieved success both alongside Rieu and as a celebrated solo artist.
Recognised by ARIA as Australia’s leading Classical Crossover artist, her recordings have reached #1 across multiple ARIA and AIR charts, spanning Pop, Classical Crossover, Jazz & Blues, and Music DVD categories. Her accolades include Platinum and Gold Album Sales Awards, an ARIA #1 Award, and two Hollywood Music in Media Awards (2022 and 2024).
Named Redlands Citizen of the Year in 2024 and a Queensland nominee for Australian of the Year, Mirusia’s repertoire spans operas, musicals, and oratorios. She has collaborated with renowned artists including The Seekers, The Wiggles, Nana Mouskouri, José Carreras, and Sir Anthony Hopkins.
Passionate about the transformative power of music, Mirusia also serves as International Ambassador for Don Spencer’s Australian Children’s Music Foundation, the Redland Foundation, and as Prima Ambassador for Silver Memories.
