The Newry Studio of Irish Dancing

The Newry Studio of Irish Dancing trains strong, passionate dancers from age 2, through to adults.

Located in Adelaide Australia, and teaching within the Edwardstown area for nearly 40 years. Our students perform in competitions locally, nationally and internationally and are available for Riverdance style showcases. The school continues to show much enthusiasm and dedication for this energetic and technical sport.

Another fantastic weekend at the McAleer Championships in Melbourne! 🍀✨

A huge thank you to Fiona and the entire team at for running such a well-organised and welcoming feis. We love making the trip over each year with our SA crew, catching up with interstate friends and always leave feeling inspired.

Last week we celebrated our girl Kelly’s final class with us before she heads back home to the UK 🥲

What started as joining our Adult Irish Dance classes quickly became so much more. Over the past two years, Kelly has thrown herself into every opportunity, becoming a valued member of our Advanced class, forming wonderful friendships, and experiencing so many of the Irish dancing events and memories that make up the Newry experience. Even travelling with us to Brisbane for the Australian National Championships last year, where she proudly competed in our team dances 🥰

We finished her final class with cake, plenty of laughs, and one last Slip Jig all together.

While we’re sad to see her go, we’re incredibly grateful for the memories we’ve shared. We know this isn’t goodbye forever, and we’ll be ready to welcome her back into class whenever she finds herself back in Adelaide.

Safe travels, Kelly. Thank you for being part of our Newry family. 💚

What a fantastic weekend of competing! We are so proud of all of our dancers who took to the stage and represented Newry with confidence, determination and great sportsmanship. 🍀👯‍♀️

From our tiny dancers attending their first comps, right through to our adult dancers, it was wonderful to see everyone achieving goals, in new dresses, setting personal bests and enjoying the experience of competition. 🌟

Annual Newry Adults class wine tour 2026 💚

Such an incredible day spent on Saturday with a wonderful group of our adult class dancers (many missing!!), adventuring around the beautiful sites of McLaren Vale. A special shoutout to our incredible Jean for putting together another fabulous day, and to sidekick Tracy for helping with our hilarious awards 😚

Margaret Atkinson Feis 2026!!

Celebrating our incredible girls and .freeth competing at the world championships earlier this month in Chicago!! ✨✨

These girls have had an incredible experience travelling this year, training with the team from and the biggest thank you to Clare and Paula for supporting our girls. They have learnt so much from you all 🤩

Part 1 of the week that was!! St Patrick’s day 2026 💚🇮🇪

Tuesday the 17th of March saw the Newry Studio bring one of its biggest groups of dancers around Adelaide to share the love of all things green and Irish with our incredible community😍

Big thankyou to The Findon Hotel for welcoming us back once again with open arms, for 2 of our 25 performances across the 4 days of celebrations 💪

The biggest well done to our Newry dancers, parents, musicians and teachers for once again creating the most magical week for our school 💚
