David Shields is a Victorian based artist who hand paints Original Paintings for Sporting Organisations, Businesses and Individuals. David has worked as an artist for the last 15 years after completing a Visual Arts degree at Monash University. PENDLES POSSESSIONS = NUMBER of Limited Edition Prints I create

Always good to do something different 🙂 so I’m limiting prints to how many touches Pendles gets today (min. 15) - so get your order in and play along.

I like to make my prints special (and limited in number). There are plenty of Tiger fans - including their president Peggy O Neall - who missed out on the 42 Dusty Prints I created. So if you want yours simply message me and I’ll send you some more info.

** About the creation of the portrait.

Portraits are just really hard.

That’s why I love doing them. I work on better light, stronger facial details, more atmosphere, more emotion. I’m genuinely trying to get better with every canvas I paint.

Every artist know this, but I’ll say it anyway. Each artwork and each print I sell ‘genuinely’ makes me feel amazing and really motivated to keep pushing through the hard times. It also helps financially sustain the art side of things, which I’m super grateful for.

** $90 PRINTS NOW FOR SALE **
There’s already plenty of Scott Pendlebury memorabilia out there, but if you’re after something a bit more unique, while also supporting a local artist, I’ve just released prints of my Pendles oil painting. Let your mates know.

Read on for a few details about the piece and the prints.

This painting captures Pendles in that classic moment where he somehow looks completely still, but also totally aware of everything happening around him. Calm. Composed. Ready to make another smart decision.

I included the 433 gold logo on the guernsey as a nod to the games record, but also made sure the Gippy Power logo painted on the shorts.

The prints are 60 x 90cm and come unframed. The prints slide straight into the standard poster frames you can grab from places like Kmart or The Reject Shop.

They’d suit a bar room, office, man cave, lounge room, or make a different Father’s Day or birthday present for any Collingwood supporter (or Essendon supporter if you don’t like them)

A few final touches and this Scott Pendlebury piece is pretty much there. Really enjoyed working on this one and trying to capture that calm, composed presence he’s always had out on the ground.

I’ll be releasing my usual $90 prints tonight, so stay tuned if you’d like to grab one.

Big thanks to Collingwood for keeping Scott Pendlebury out this week and giving me an extra seven days to finish this painting. Really appreciate the support. 😂

Painting update — it’s coming along really well. Just slowly building up the realism layer by layer now. On track to have it finished next week, and then I’ll get some prints organised for those keen.
