💥Junior Rollers we are back!💥

🛼Dust off your skates and gear because Term 1 registrations for Churchill Junior Rollers are now open! 🛼

As with our SkateFit programs we are also offering new junior skaters (or those returning after 2 or more years) an opportunity to 'Come and Try' the first 3 sessions for FREE!

Term 1 runs every Sunday starting Feb 1st, at Churchill Leisure Centre and is open to school aged kids and teens of all genders.

We are continuing Derby Basics (due to popular demand!) - If your child would like to learn the basics of Roller Derby (without any contact drills), we welcome them to sign up for BOTH Learn to Skate & Roller Derby Basics. This is a great chance for them to give it a try before committing to the higher insurance level of contact Roller Derby.

Our Junior program has two parts, each requiring a different level of insurance - see below for details (if you have the higher level insurance that also covers you for Learn to Skate sessions)

Learn to Skate 12.30-1.30pm - $64.90 insurance

Junior Roller Derby Basics 1.30-2.30pm - covered by Learn to Skate insurance (non-contact drills only)

Junior Roller Derby 1.30-2.30pm - $118.98 insurance - Junior Roller Derby is suitable for kids and teens who are confident stopping and falling - kids and teens in our Roller Derby basics class will progress to this when they're ready.

NOTE: Adults of children/teens enrolled in Junior Rollers are also welcome to register for the Learn to Skate program (not Junior Roller Derby). Alternatively Adults can register for Skatefit (see below) and attend Junior Rollers for extra skating time for FREE!

Yesterday we held our final Juniors session for the year, which saw us review the progress of our skaters. We are excited to announce that we have two new white stars - Vihaan and Ayansh, and two new red stars - Keira and Xav!

Huge congratulations to all our juniors for their dedication and growth mindset approach to our sessions. We can’t wait to see you again at the start of Term 1 2026!

*as our session was rescheduled to accommodate a basketball tournament several skaters hoping to be assessed couldn’t make it - we promise we will revisit with them in early 2026!

We are so excited to celebrate the achievement of 5 of our Juniors who levelled up and got their White Star today! These skaters have been learning the basics of Roller Derby this Term in our entry-level “Derby Basics” program and have gone from strength to strength!

Congrats to Frankie, Maeve, Imogen, Charlotte and Keira - we can’t wait to see you continue to smash your goals! 🥳

Wow! Our Juniors program is 💥EXPLODING! 💥

We enjoyed another packed class today for Learn to Skate, then celebrated Xavier gaining his White Star after several months of practice, feedback and consistent work. Xav, we are so proud of your growth mindset and you should be too!

Today was the first Roller Derby scrimmage for our juniors, they all did a great job! Lots to learn about before the next one but the grins from ear to ear said it all..

Our heartfelt thanks to East Vic Roller Derby and South Sea Roller Derby for being so welcoming and to our friends at Dragon City Roller Derby - DCRD for being so encouraging and supportive!
