Meet Sophia
Sophia and I met in 2006.
We met on the Neutral Bay club tennis courts where we used to have lessons.
Sophia is one of my oldest friends and ever since I’ve know her she’s done interesting things with interesting people and will no doubt have a great story to tell about it.
Some of my favourites...
She was the person who found Adani’s mine and put it on google maps (even though she spelt it wrong)
She landed her mum is jail once (funny story)
She’s filmed a music video with Vera Blue.
She works at Greenpeace doing good for the world but doesn’t give herself enough credit for the awesome things she has achieved. I’ve always admired (whilst being very intimidated) by her natural coolness from music, fashion, decor, friends - even her parents are damn cool! Oh and even her partner Alex oozes just as much coolness too.
Sophis’s hobbies include;
Improv class (biggest enthusiast you’ll ever meet)
Sleeping (She is not a morning person, but she is changing)
Accidentally stealing people’s lunches at work (nearly had a breakdown over it)
I love eating pizza, drinking wine, and talking with Soph for hours on end. She’s got incredible emotional intelligence and insight and my go to person for any dilemma I have. She’s shaped and changed my views on the world and myself more than she knows. I think she’s humbly opinionated, articulate, compassionate and wise beyond her years.
Like a good wine our friendship seems to get better every year and just like us it has grown a lot a since those days on the tennis courts. And yes, we do still occasionally play tennis back on those neutral bay courts.
To me Sophia is;
Wise, warm, and integrity.
I’m proud to call her my friend.
