From yesterday’s table of chaos has come:
2 cute bunnies and their sewing patterns - Simple Sewing Saturday July 11th
Patterns and sample curved zipper bag- Simple Sewing Saturday June 13th
2 pompom edged cushions
And a few microwave dried pansies that I managed not to burn!

This is what busy looks like on my table.
Flower pressing on one corner, making sample stuffed toys for a sewing class on another side and designing cushion covers for our loft unit, all while attempting to press flowers in the microwave with some success and some not so much .🌻🌺

I love making journals from my old artwork and other interesting bits and pieces lying around.
Today, this little journal has become my own version of a floriography dictionary. I’m adding samples of my pressed flower collection, adding any known meanings they have, then considering what they mean to me.

Not only am I obsessed with flower pressing these days but also flower drying, and making these precious tiny bouquets!

Well! It’s been a year since I opened SuzziMaggs and the Slow-Op Shopfront. We have been sewing and painting, journal making and flower pressing and so much more.
To celebrate our first birthday, anyone who drops in during opening hours this week to say hi will receive a beautiful little gift from me. I appreciate your support, thank you for making this first year fun!

Zinnia - everlasting friendship
Rosemary- remembering
Geraniums- friendship, positive emotions

You san say a lot with a sweet little card.
Pressed zinnias and rosemary arranged on a vintage paper on top of drawn and hammered geraniums, all to say that I am remembering our lifelong friendship with joy.

Do you know about the language of flowers? It’s called Floriography , and a Tussoe Mussie is a small bouquet designed to deliver a secret message through floriography. In our next Hunter Valley Literary, Cake and Flower Society gathering we will discuss this language of flowers and use our pressed flowers to create messages on cards, tags and little artworks.
