MARCIE TURNER PETYARRE | Ref: MT14

Marcie's signature linear Awelye (Body Paint) designs are unlike anything else in contemporary Aboriginal art. Rooted in women's ceremony, each flowing line represents the sacred markings painted onto women's bodies in the Anmatyerre tradition. Daughter of the late Margaret Turner Petyarre, Marcie carries her mother's stories forward with quiet power and a style entirely her own.
This striking piece (89cm x 69cm) is signed by the artist and comes with a certificate of authenticity. Purchased directly from Marcie, as all our works are. 🖤

LINDBERY INKAMALA | Watercolour on Board | 74.5cm x 54cm

We are honoured to offer this rare and deeply moving work by Lindberg Inkamala, a Western Arrernte artist from the Hermannsburg region of Central Australia.

Lindberg was born in 1942, one of five children of Avis and Gerhard Inkamala, his father himself a respected painter within the Hermannsburg School of Modern Art. After years working as a stockman, Lindberg turned to painting in the early 1960s, producing works that quietly but powerfully capture a deep connection to Country through watercolour.

Like his father, Lindberg was not a prolific painter, which makes his works genuinely scarce. He passed away in 1980 at the age of 38, and what remains is a small, significant collection that forms part of an enduring artistic legacy.

BAMBATU CAMPBELL NAPANGARDI | 86CM X 149CM | CANVAS | REF: BCN28

At the heart of Bambatu's work is the Kungka Tjukurrpa (Women's Ceremony Dreaming)

Born in remote Pintupi Country in the early 1940s, Bambatu learned her craft watching the old men of Papunya paint and was apprenticed to her husband Dinni Campbell Tjampitjinpa for many years.

Every dot, every concentric circle, every parallel line tells a story — the ceremonial journeys of her female ancestors across the Western Desert, stopping at waterholes and rock hole sites to dance and sing the cycle of each sacred place.
This is a stunning, large-scale work purchased directly from Bambatu, with certificate of authenticity.

Sister to the legendary Dorothy Napangardi, Bambatu is one of the great custodians of Pintupi women's story. 🧡

Not art today, just the landscape that inspires it.

This is the waterhole at Ormiston Gorge in the West MacDonnell Ranges, known as Kwartatuma to the Western Arrernte people, the traditional custodians of this ancient, breathtaking country.

Standing here, or looking down on it like this, you understand why this land has been at the heart of art and story for thousands of years. The colours alone are extraordinary.

We're so lucky to have this as our backyard. Hope you're having a wonderful Sunday wherever you are! ☀️

PANTJITI MARY MCLEAN | 205CM X 92CM | TITLE: KUNIYA TJUKURPA WITI KUTJARO (Python Dreaming)| REF: PM491

A remarkable large-scale work by the late Dr Pantjiti Mary McLean — one of the most important and recognisable Ngaatjatjarra artists of the Western Desert movement.

Rich with storytelling, movement and connection to Country, Mary’s paintings carry a warmth and humanity that made her one of the most celebrated Ngaatjatjarra artists of her generation.

Her work is represented in major Australian museum collections including the National Gallery of Australia, NGV and AGNSW, and she was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from Curtin University for her contribution to Aboriginal art and community.

An exceptional collector piece.

A beautifully detailed Bush Seeds painting by Anmatyerre artist Mary Rumble Pitjara, this elegant work features flowing layers of teal, white, yellow and earthy brown dots that create a soft and subtle sense of movement across the canvas.
