Justin Andrews is inspired by that which remains nebulous and enigmatic in today’s world of digital representations. He aims to produce work that is timeless and limitless by using materials and ideas that are immediate, vibrant and full of life.

When working with sound he searches for compositions through the manipulation of temporal modulations, dynamic ranges and diverse sound sources. Fields of sound are made from sonorous waves, clangourous impulses from resonant field recordings, delayed and layered drones from voice and most recently from a revisitation of his childhood flute.

He treats sound as if it is alive. He manipulates audio in sculptural and musical ways, scouring frequencies to produce things that he calls Sound Structures.
