It has been over 30 years since Edna Reinhardt established Over the Moon Yoga and Dance Studios in Castlemaine. Over that period the school has built up both a wonderful relationship with the local community and a committed and dynamic dance and yoga teaching team. OTM teachers constantly explore new ideas in their relative fields of yoga, creative dance, contemporary dance and ballet. Sharing ide

as about the art and method of teaching is important to the teachers and fundamental in bringing these disciplines into the lives of young people. Whilst OTM celebrates more than a quarter of a century in Castlemaine the culture of the school is in constant renewal as ideas and inspirations present themselves. In 2014 the ballet program included the Laurel Martyn syllabus taught by Edwynna Adams who was herself a student of Ms. In 2015

Junior Performance 2026 is officially SOLD OUT! 🎉

Thank you so much to everyone who has snapped up tickets and shared in the excitement for this very special event. We’re thrilled to have such wonderful support from our OTM community!

Our young dancers have been working towards this moment, and we can’t wait to see them take to the stage at Phee Broadway Theatre on Saturday 12 September.

✨ A thoughtful approach to performance ✨

At Over the Moon, we believe that children’s performances should celebrate creativity, expression and the joy of movement. Our choreography and costumes are always thoughtfully considered, with a strong emphasis on age-appropriate dance and costuming.

Students at Over the Moon don’t usually require makeup, unless it is to enhance the character of a dance. Our focus is on creating a positive, supportive experience where every dancer can feel comfortable, confident and proud to share their work on stage 🌙

🌙Ever wondered why we hold a dress and technical rehearsal? 🌙

For many of our dancers – especially the youngest performers – stepping onto a theatre stage is a brand new experience.

Our rehearsal week gives children time to become familiar with the stage, backstage spaces, lighting and theatre environment before performance day arrives.

It's a calm and relaxed opportunity to practise, support one another, and build confidence, helping every child feel ready to enjoy the magic of performing.

We can't wait to see the theatre come alive for this special event in September! ✨

At Over the Moon, performing isn't just about stepping onto a stage – it's an important part of how children learn and grow. Through the Junior Performance, students develop confidence, teamwork, creativity and resilience. They experience the excitement of rehearsing in a theatre, supporting one another backstage, and sharing the joy of dance with family, friends and the wider community. For many of our dancers, it's a memory they'll treasure for years to come. 🌙

One of our favourite events of the year is just around the corner... Junior Performance!

Our youngest dancers have a very special show coming together, and we can't wait
to share all the magic with our OTM community. Mark your calendars – we'd love to see you there!

Our dance is inspired by The Eagle, the Crow and the Bat, a rich cultural Teaching shared by the Jaara Community about how the Jaara Country came to be. Thank you to Uncle Rick for permission and guidance in presenting this performance. We look forward to sharing this event with you all.

Excitement is building as preparations for our 2026 Junior Performance get underway! Our teachers and dancers are already hard at work creating another magical showcase, and we can't wait to share this much-loved highlight of the year with our OTM community.

A reminder for families to save the date – tickets will go on sale Monday 3 August! Other key dates are Dress Rehearsal on Friday 11 September and Junior Performance Shows on Saturday 12 September. This is always a much-loved event in the OTM calendar, and we can’t wait to share the joy of performance with you all. Welcome back for Term 3, everyone! We hope you've all had a nourishing break and are feeling refreshed, ready for another wonderful term of movement, creativity and connection. The studio is ready to come alive once again, and we can't wait to see everyone!

Over the next little while, we will be celebrating the joy of our Winter School, introducing an exciting new Ballet Exam pathway at OTM, sharing about professional development undertaken by our teachers over the school holidays, and getting excited about the 2026 Junior Performance!

Here's to another inspiring season of dancing, learning and moving together. Long live the dance!

ONLY ONE MORE SLEEP until Winter School!
The music is waiting...
The studio is ready...
Tomorrow the doors open and the magic begins!

For three Winter days, our studio becomes a place of creativity, courage and joyful movement, where our younger dancers explore new styles, meet wonderful teachers and share the delight of dancing together.

Importantly, younger dancers are supported by the Over the Moon Class Assistants, a skillful cohort of older dancers who assist the teachers and class groups. Chookas for Winter School, Class Assistants, and thank you for your leadership! We are so excited to welcome everyone into the studio. See you tomorrow!
