⚔️ FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS — THANK YOU ⚔️
Where do we even begin?
Kirrilee and I want to say the biggest, most heartfelt thank you to every single person who helped make the first Huon Valley Medieval Festival & Ren Faire what it was this weekend.
To our incredible vendors, food vendors, performers, re-enactment groups, entertainers and volunteers, this event simply would not have happened without you.
You took a chance on a completely new festival in its very first year. You brought your businesses, your talents, your displays, your costumes, your equipment, your time and, most importantly, your enthusiasm. You helped turn what started as an idea into an actual little medieval village filled with people, colour, music, food, fighting, laughter and life.
We genuinely could not be more grateful.
For a first year event of this size, we are incredibly proud of how smoothly the weekend ran. We were blessed with beautiful weather, an amazing crowd and an incredible group of people behind the scenes. Of course there were a few little hiccups along the way, there always will be with something this big, but nothing we couldn't work through.
What stood out to us most was the patience, flexibility and kindness people showed us when we did need to problem solve. Thank you for understanding that we were navigating something enormous for the first time and for working with us rather than against us. That meant more than you probably realise.
And to our volunteers: thank you. Truly. So many people quietly stepped in wherever they were needed, often without being asked twice. Events like this simply cannot happen without people willing to give their time, and we are incredibly grateful for every hour you gave us.
We have learnt an enormous amount from this first festival. There are things we'll refine, things we'll change, and plenty of ideas we're already excited to explore. But more than anything, this weekend showed us that there is absolutely a place for something like this in the Huon Valley.
And yes… there will be another one. ❤️
We have tentatively booked 8–9 April at Rivers Edge Campgrounds for our next festival. There will be plenty more information about that once we've had time to regroup, and we're really hoping to see a lot of familiar faces joining us again.
But for now…
Kirrilee and I are going to take a very well earned break.
Thank you for believing in this event.
Thank you for supporting us in our first year.
Thank you for helping us bring this strange, ambitious, wonderful idea to life.
We couldn't have done it without you.
Until next time. ⚔️🏰💚
