A lot can change in 40 years, but one thing that will never change about Casino Beef Week is closing off the roads and letting the cattle in!

Four decades later, and it's still the best kind of traffic jam.

📅 WHERE IT ALL BEGAN – 1982! 📅

Today, 29th September, marks a very special date in the history of Casino Beef Week. On this day in 1981, the very first Casino Beef Week committee meeting was held - the beginning of what would become a much-loved annual celebration for our community. 🎉

Just a few months later, in 1982, the very first Beef Week festival came to life!

As we look ahead to our 45th Casino Beef Week in 2027, we’re taking a trip back to where it all began!

It’s pretty special to look back at these photos and see how much has changed over the years, while the tradition of Beef Week continues to bring our community together year after year. 🙌

🤝 Thank You to Our Major Sponsor - Australian Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry

Casino Beef Week would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Australian Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) for their continued support as a Major Sponsor of our 2026 festival.

DAFF plays an important role in supporting producers, regional communities and industry, helping to strengthen sustainability, innovation and resilience across the sector.

Their contribution helps us continue to celebrate the people behind our region’s beef industry, bringing together farmers, producers, businesses and the wider community to showcase the strength and importance of agriculture in Australia.

We are grateful for DAFF’s ongoing partnership, helping us deliver a festival that honours our agricultural heritage while highlighting the future of our industry.

❤️ THANK YOU, BRENDA ❤️

This year, we were honoured to dedicate the Casino Beef Week theme to Brenda Armfield, recognising the incredible contribution she made to our festival and the community she loved so dearly.

To everyone who helped honour Brenda by dressing up, decorating, attending an event, entering a competition, supporting our local businesses, joining in the celebrations - thank you. Together, you created a tribute filled with joy, community spirit and the warmth that reflected exactly who Brenda was.

While Brenda was deeply missed this year, seeing our community come together in her honour was a beautiful reminder of the lasting impact she had on so many lives.

May we continue to carry forward the community pride, passion and enthusiasm that Brenda shared so freely. We hope the spirit she brought to Casino Beef Week never fades, and that her love for this festival continues to inspire us for many years to come.

Thank you, Brenda. You'll always be a part of Casino Beef Week. ❤️
