This week on Radio Architecture we welcome ANNA NERVEGNA & TOBY REED to the studio!

Nervegna Reed Architecture is an award-winning architecture practice established by Anna Nervegna and Toby Reed in 2004. NR projects include the Arrow Studio, the Victorian Quakers Centre, PEP Dandenong, social housing and community projects in regional Victoria, Melbourne, Hobart, and urban planning in China. NR’s design for the Central Goldfields Art Gallery has been widely published, was exhibited in the 2023 Venice Architecture Biennale and won the RAIA’s John George Knight Award for Heritage Architecture, and an award in the best public building category at the 2A Awards, Dubai. NR extend their architectural dialogue with writing and the making of architectural documentaries and videos. NR have guest edited 2A Magazine and Architecture Victoria, and recently Toby Reed contributed the chapter ‘Screenness’ to the book ‘The Physical and the Digital City’ (Intellect, London / Chicago).

McBride Charles Ryan Founders, Debbie Ryan and Rob McBride, bring more than 30 years of combined experience across architecture, design, education, and advocacy.

McBride Charles Ryan is a multi-award-winning architectural practice recognised for expanding the architectural envelope to enrich people’s lives and bring meaning and quality to the urban environment. With more than 30 Australian Institute of Architects
Awards, including three Victorian Architecture Medals alongside numerous international publications and accolades, MCR has established itself as one of
Australia’s most celebrated design studios.

Debbie Ryan, an Honorary Fellow of the Australian Institute of Architects, is recognised as one of Australia’s leading designers and voices within the profession. Guided by an intuitive approach shaped by her arts background, Debbie explores the relationship between form, space, and materials to create work that seeks to make lives better at its core. Rob McBride brings a passion for architectural history,
combined with a background in science and mathematics which continues to inform and invigorate his approach to design. He is a Life Fellow of the Australian Institute of Architects, and an Adjunct Professor at RMIT.

Together, Debbie and Rob continue to shape architectural discourse through built work, teaching, advocacy, and a shared commitment to creating thoughtful, diverse, and enduring architecture.

This week on Radio Architecture we welcome SARA LEVITAS to the studio!

Sara Levitas is a Melbourne-based principal designer with over a decade of experience across interior and furniture design. Through her studio, Sara Levitas Design Studio, she has built a reputation for a refined, considered aesthetic that sits at the intersection of art and function.

Sara’s work has been featured in Grand Designs Australia, The Design Files, Home Design Magazine, and Yellowtrace, and her bespoke furniture has been acquired by AD100 designers Ken Fulk and Summer Thornton.

As the wife of a rabbi and a mother of four, she brings a personal perspective to her work - including a particular interest in the design of Jewish communal spaces.

This week on Radio Architecture we welcome ALLISON JESSUP to the studio!

Allison Jessup is a Senior Associate - Interior Design Lead at Billard Leece Partnership. With over 25 years’ experience as an interior designer, Allison has delivered a diverse portfolio spanning public, education, healthcare and bespoke residential projects. This breadth of experience has strengthened her ability to work effectively with committees and complex stakeholder groups, including facilitating client workshops, presentations and decision-making processes.

Allison works collaboratively with clients, consultants and builders to deliver efficient, well-considered environments with the flexibility to support future use. She brings strong capability in clearly communicating design intent, preparing robust documentation, and managing projects within established programs and budgets, supported by a detailed understanding of planning, VCAT and Building Code requirements. Her approach is grounded in inclusive collaboration, using dialogue and intelligent questioning to develop a deep understanding of each brief. Recent healthcare experience includes major public hospital projects such as the New Footscray Hospital, where she has contributed to contemporary, patient-centred interiors that support clinical efficiency, longevity, wellbeing, and inclusivity.

This week on Radio Architecture we welcome DIANNA SNAPE to the program!

Dianna Snape is an Australian photographer renowned for her compelling vision of architecture, interiors, and landscapes. With more than 25 years of experience photographing projects for leading architecture and design studios, her work sits at the intersection of design intelligence and visual storytelling.

A graduate of RMIT University’s prestigious Bachelor of Arts (Photography) (Honours) program, Dianna brings a deep conceptual understanding to every commission. Driven by a lifelong fascination with both the built and natural environments, she travels extensively in pursuit of meaningful, well-considered design, capturing spaces not just as they appear, but as they are lived, felt, and remembered.

Her images are regularly published in leading national and international design publications, valued for their clarity, atmosphere, and sensitivity to architectural intent.

In 2024, Dianna released her first book, Architecture at the Heart of the Home, published by Thames & Hudson in collaboration with writer Jan Henderson. The book features 22 thoughtfully designed homes across all six Australian states, showcasing work by some of the country’s most respected established practices alongside emerging architectural voices. The publication reflects Dianna’s ability to distil complex design narratives into cohesive, emotionally resonant visual stories.

Beyond her photographic practice, Dianna is a passionate advocate for the professional and creative advancement of the industry. She is a Founding Committee Member of Image Makers Association Australia, serving as President from May 2022 to August 2024.

Dianna was named one of the “100 Most Inspiring Architectural Photographers” by the International LOOP Design Awards in 2022.
