Leawarra Calisthenic Club commenced in 1989 with the amalgamation of Langwarrin Calisthenic Club and Frankston City Calisthenic Club. Leawarra Calisthenic Club participates in various competitions throughout the year, held both locally and throughout Melbourne - including the Victorian State Titles and the prestigious Royal South Street Society competition in Ballarat. Calisthenics is one of the fastest growing artistic sports - unique to Australia. Participants of all ages thrive on the variety and challenges offered in the many facets of Calisthenics - a combination of controlled exercises and gymnastics, marching, singing, simplified ballet, folk and modern dance. It combines the best aspects of sport and art, promoting health and fitness, and an important sense of belonging to a team.

A Proud CaliExams Milestone for Leawarra 🩵

A huge congratulations to Faye, Macy and Maisie on recently undertaking their CaliExams - the first Leawarra members to do so! The renewed CaliExams Program encourages performers to challenge themselves, further develop their technique and strive for continued growth and excellence in calisthenics.

We commend all three pupils for the dedication, perseverance and commitment they have shown throughout their preparation. Their willingness to embrace this challenge is a wonderful reflection of their passion for learning and personal development.

A special shoutout to Macy, who has become the first Leawarra member (and the second in the state!) to undertake the Elite stream — an incredible milestone for both Macy and our club.

We are so proud of all three performers and look forward to seeing their hard work continue to shine on and off the stage.

🩵 May Mayhem 2026 🩵

What a fantastic day bringing the entire Leawarra community together for another memorable May Mayhem!

From our Tots to our Masters, it was wonderful to see every section take the floor and share a glimpse of the routines they’ve been working so hard on. The excitement, encouragement and club spirit on display throughout the day was a true reflection of what makes Leawarra so special.

This year also saw our newly launched Leawarra Houses come to life, with plenty of energy, enthusiasm and friendly competition throughout the games. A huge thank you to our House Captains for embracing their roles and helping create such a fun and engaging experience for our members. We were also delighted to welcome our House Family members to the event. Their continued devotion, support and connection to Leawarra are truly valued, and the example they set through their ongoing commitment to our club is something we are incredibly proud of.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Bec, Jaime, our canteen team, merch crew, door volunteers and everyone who contributed behind the scenes to organise and run the event. Days like these simply wouldn’t be possible without your time, effort and dedication.

Most importantly, congratulations to all of our performers on their brilliant presentations. We loved seeing the progress already made this year and can’t wait to watch these routines continue to evolve as we head towards the 2026 competition season.

A day to appreciate our Mothers 🩵

We are so lucky to be a part of a sport that builds community.
Within that community are mothers and those adjacent, who continuously invest in their children’s lives. It’s driving to class, practising at home, Bunning’s bbqs, gemming costumes, early competition mornings, and wrangling hair into a comp bun. The list of things you all do is extensive, and Leawarra could not be more grateful for all that you do not only to support your performer/s, but to back our club.

We hope you feel extra special on this magical day.

Encouraging adults to do something for themselves, staying active and fostering a sense of community.

Located in Carrum Downs, Victoria, Leawarra Calisthenic Club welcomes new and returning members to join our community of 38 years.

We are particularly eager to welcome new members into the following teams:
🩵 Aqua Masters (Competitive) • 26yrs+ • Tuesdays 7:15pm-9:45pm
🪩 CaliFit (Recreational) • 18yrs+ • Mondays 7:00pm-8:30pm

Calisthenics is a unique performing arts sport that combines elements of ballet, acro, singing, drama and more — offering so much in one class. We provide both competitive and recreational programs, with team and solo opportunities available for all ages and abilities.

Our qualified and experienced coaching teams, many with education backgrounds, are dedicated to developing each member’s skills, confidence and wellbeing. At Leawarra, our coaches are proud role models who lead with integrity and respect.

More than just calisthenics, Leawarra fosters friendships, leadership opportunities and a strong, supportive community.

🩵 Aqua Tinies (Competitive) • 4-7yrs • Wednesdays 4:45pm-6:15pm
🪩 Silver Tinies (Reduced Competitive) • 4-7yrs • Saturdays 9:30am-11:00am
🩵 Sub Juniors (Competitive) • 8-10yrs • Tuesdays 4:30pm-7:00pm

This coming Monday, Leawarra welcomes back Cali Fit! 🩵

Cali Fit offers all the fun, fitness and social aspects of calisthenics without the expectation of performing at competitions. Leawarra welcomes Katherine Higgs as Head Coach and looks forward to seeing her thrive within this supportive and fabulous team.

Whether you’re new to Cali, want to dust off the rods and clubs, or are a parent who has thought, ‘I’d like to give that a go,’ we are all-inclusive, welcoming those aged 18 and above.

Better yet, if you’re a new member, your first 2 classes are on us!
