💚💛 WOW, CARNARVON… WHAT AN AMAZING AFTERNOON! 🎉✨

Yesterday’s WA Day Festival at Gwoonwardu Mia was something special!

It was fantastic to see so many members of our community and visitors to town come together to celebrate everything that makes Carnarvon and the Gascoyne such a wonderful place. 💚💛

From the smiling faces and family fun to the incredible entertainment, delicious food and spectacular fire sculptures, what an afternoon and evening! 🔥🎶

💚💛 TODAY IS THE DAY, CARNARVON! 💛💚

The WA Day Festival is happening TODAY at Gwoonwardu Mia and we’ve packed the afternoon with FREE family fun, live entertainment, activities, food and plenty to keep everyone entertained! 🎉

☀️ The weather is looking glorious, so bring your picnic rug, find a spot on the lawn and settle in for the afternoon!

From 3pm to 5.30pm, there’s loads of family fun and Main Stage entertainment:

🦖 Meet Fluffy the Dinosaur
🐍 Get up close with Red Dirt Reptiles — you might even be brave enough to hold a snake!
🐐 Cuddle the furry friends at Old MacDonald’s Farm
🍪 Decorate your own creation at the Cuppa and Crumb Cookie Station
🎧 Dance away at the Silent Disco
🎨 Get colourful with face painting
🎉 Enjoy entertainment from Parties Kids Remember
💃 Watch our Vietnamese cultural dancers
🎶 Enjoy plenty of live Main Stage entertainment throughout the afternoon

🔥 Then we’re finishing WA Day in spectacular fashion with Creality’s Fire Sculptures!

As part of the Living Histories Project, watch art come alive through fire as incredible shapes, imagery and community stories are transformed by the flames. ✨🔥

🔥 Join Creality Arts for the second session tomorrow to make Fire Sculptures ahead of WA Day Festival at Gwoonwardu Mia this Friday 🌟

🔥 CARNARVON — COME MAKE FIRE WITH US! 🔥

Drop into the TODAY or TOMORROW, anytime between 2:30–5pm, and help us create our Living Histories fire sculptures.

Come bend, weave and build with us — and share your cultural roots, stories, memories and experiences of wildfire and fire.

These stories will become part of the sculptures we’ll bring together and set alight at Gwoonwardu Mia this Friday.
