🧡 A huge and heartfelt thanks to all those generous folk who have already joined La Mama's Giving Program. Anyone who donated before 1 June will find their name along with our love on our website. We'll update these at the end of each month so that we can celebrate you all.

🧡 We know times are tough right now for many people, but if you do have the capacity to donate so that La Mama can keep on championing new Australian stories, anything you can give welcomes you into one of our support circles: Pathways, Players, Presenters or Pillars. It's only two weeks til the end of the financial year, and you can claim anything over $2 as a tax deduction.

🧡 If you're unable to donate, we completely understand. You can still help us by sharing our story, introducing a first-timer to La Mama, or recommending a show/ing to someone. Or bring a friend to EXPLORATIONS or SCRATCH, and help them comprehend the sheer wonder of artists creating a new living breathing piece, and the privilege it is to witness a work at this early and vulnerable stage of its life.

✨ La Mama EXPLORATIONS officially kicked off last night and will run - not walk - until 30 August. ✨ That's three months to catch a huge variety of brand new Australian work - Tuesday to Sunday, a new piece in each theatre every three days, all from 7.30pm, and all only $20 with 100% box office going to the very artists you're supporting. Plus the famous La Mama raffle and the warm La Mama hospitality and that spells a really fun and cheap night out. Do it!

✨ Tonight is your final chance to see the show that Australian Arts Review described as "one of the funniest things on a Melbourne stage"! GAG REFLEX closes tonight after a season that had audiences howling at its hilarity and moved by its honesty. 🧡 A huge congratulations to each of the creatives who combined forces to bring us this boundary-pushing show that leaned "confidently into awkwardness, vulgarity and chaos without losing sight of the emotional stakes underneath." (My Melbourne Arts). Many a Melbournian was thrown back to their teenage years and many more learned a thing or two! ✨Have a wonderful final show!✨

✨ Guess what's just round the corner?? La Mama EXPLORATIONS! Three whole months of 52 brand new works-in-development that invite you in to be their very first audiences - and it all kicks off 2 June.

Today our Venue & Technical Manager, Shane Grant has been training a few of the Stage Managers that we supply for each of the three-day showings. Welcome Willow, Mik and Melina - and the rest who we'll be seeing around the traps for the next few months.

🧡 Here are the gorgeous and supremely talented folk who've brought us Megan Twycross' STUCK these past three weeks. Congratulations to them all! STUCK is a stunning show in every way and has wowed audiences and critics - and students. The show is on the VCE Drama Playlist and has been wonderfully received by the lucky schools who got to see it. As Anne-Marie Peard pointed out on Thursday's Triple R SmartArts, in discussing the emotional responses of some students, "I think sometimes we forget how extraordinary theatre can be ... how much this can absolutely move someone." This team certainly moved Melbourne - and how wonderful for us.

Final show this afternoon at 4pm. Sold out, but you can always try the door - often a ticket becomes available last minute. If not, make sure you book the On Demand season starting 1 June.
