With dancing, we will always have some moments, if not many, where we will:
- feel silly
- feel frustrated
- feel embarrassed
We will also experience some moments, if not many, where we will:
- feel excited
- feel connected
- feel supported
To me, the best part of it is the journey.
For all of the lambada moves I know today, I reflect on the years of training I had with many lambadeiros around the US, and now here in Melbourne. It’s the community behind the times of laughter, confusion, and high fives that make me love this dance more and more throughout the years. I am here now, continually growing and pushing my comfort zones.
I am here to continue that positive energy that many lambadeiros have passed onto me. With each class, I plan intentionally, constantly asking myself how to better relay a core movement so it can benefit you for upcoming moves. I push myself to grow, and I hope that will translate to my future students. More than anything, I’m excited to share what I know, because it is history I get to pass on.
So don’t hesitate - join me in experiencing all that this dance has to offer.
