It is all about a pulse that feels engaged, active and full of potential without tipping into stress or urgency. This idea informed both the movement quality and the collective energy of the work.

Last weekend, our guest performing artists from three different countries, and many more cultural ancestries, shared stories, gestures and movement explorations with our cast. Perform in a new cross-cultural contemporary dance work.

All 18+ dancers are invited to express interest in 100BPM, a contemporary choreography project exploring culture, movement, and shared humanity.

Dancers from all backgrounds are welcome, with culturally and linguistically diverse artists strongly encouraged to apply. You don’t need to be a professional dancer — curiosity, openness, and commitment to the creative process are what matter most.

Development workshops and rehearsals will take place every weekend from July to October, culminating in a public performance at the Melbourne Fringe Festival.

Are you a contemporary and/or cultural dancer based in Melbourne/Naarm with an interest in creating work across cultures?

Join 100BPM, a contemporary choreography project exploring culture, movement, and shared humanity, led by Mexican-Australian choreographer Elena Osalde.

Dancers from all backgrounds are welcome. Curiosity, openness, and commitment to the creative process are what matter most.
Workshops and rehearsals will take place May-October, culminating in a public performance.
