Let’s improve our explosive jumps!

This is a fabulous exercise for not only dancers but all athletes that use explosive jumping in their sport.

WHAT YOU NEED 💪🏻
A Theraband
A heavy object or person to hold the tail of your band down.

KEY POINTS 🔑

•When landing from your jump ensure you land evenly on your foot, rolling down through the toes as you land. Your heel should be touching the floor before you take off into a jump again.

• Ensure you are not landing on a straight knee, land in a nice deep plie before jumping again.

• Keep posture upright.

Repeat 2x each leg - start with 10-12 Repetitions

How I created and maintained such a high devlope!

This is one of my all time favourite exercises for improving your devlope! Here we are mimicking a traditional devlope to second but instead of standing we are laying on the floor, this allows you to really focus on maintaining turnout throughout the whole movement, cranking that knee up as close to your side as possible and focusing on mind muscle connection.

Repeat this exercise 2x each side. 10-12 reps

This is an excellent exercise for your develope to second!

By mimicking what your muscles and body would do in a half devlope this exercise enables you to strengthen your hips and condition that high position with the knee before the extension, overall giving you a higher extension to second position!

20 DAYS OF EXERCISES- DAY 7

A little sneak peek of a training session in studio!

Here .dancer and I are doing Hip flexor lifts. This is an excellent exercise to strengthen up those hip flexors to achieve a higher and technically correct devlope and grande battemant!

Do 2 sets of 8-10 reps each leg. Depending on your hip strength you may have to use something like a chair that’s a little lower, however if this exercise is too easy on a lower platform you can progress to a higher barre or even a wall!

Want a higher extension to second? This is an excellent exercise for strengthening the hips and conditioning the turnout for your full extension!

Complete 2 sets of 8-12 reps (depends on how difficult you find this exercise)

Make sure to keep turnout at all times and body straight, toes pointed. Just as you would in a proper devlope to second

20 DAYS OF EXERCISES DAY 4!

Loosen up those hips before class by giving this exercise a go! This is a great one to gain mobility in those hips before class. Try and go nice and slow through the positions and when you get to the bottom give your hips a second to sink down toward the floor as far as they can before leaning back.

If you have a b***y band or even a Thera band that you can tie up this is a great exercise to strengthen those ankles.

Do 3 sets of 15 reps

Things like hops en pointe, turns, relives etc. Any movement in which your ankles can buckle this will prevent!

This exercise is excellent for strengthening those hip flexors. For this exercise you want to hinge that hip and knee as close to your side as you can before each extension. Try and hold the extension for 1-2 seconds before coming back down.
