The time has come to speak out.... I’ve taken a step back from creating as the industry has gone crazy IMO! Resin companies and people thinking this is ok for KIDS to use has become way too common place and I need to say NO No it isn’t ok!!

I started my resin art journey many years ago now and had to find an alternative when I started to have serious allergic reactions. It started from my second exposure but I wasn’t sure what was happening just thought I was tired little did I realise the fumes were penetrating my eye balls behind my safety glasses. I wasn’t taught that I had to use serious PPE at all when I did my course and took it upon myself to be what I thought was safe! Using gloves a paper mask and glasses little did I know I actually needed goggles and organic respirator not just a p2 mask I know many many people that have been using it for years with no protection and yes they are ok haven’t had any reactions BUT those of us who have have had serious reactions even some anaphylaxis.

I am mortified to see people are now thinking kids will be ok. It’s frightens the absolute s**t out of me it really does hence why I’m posting about it. We ALL as experienced artists need to make a stand and say NO to kids classes. Resin companies with clever marketing but when you look at their SDS (safety data sheets) it actually does recommend PPE (personal protective equipment) be worn. It’s just NUTS

If you really want to teach kids a form of fluid art using non toxic acrylic paint is an option (obviously without all the concoctions people have come up with!) just straight paint and water will give the same results and it’s safe!!

Please please please say NO to kids resin art classes it’s kids health at hand here not making money
