Nope just CEC staff trying to stay safe, whilst putting horses out.

Hi-Vis should be in everyone’s kit - low light, night and LOW VISIBILITY. This was at 9.30am!

What’s down the road?

Is there a horse loose?

A wombat, echidna or roo ambling across the road like they own the place?

A rider thrown off?

A horse playing up?

I don’t know, and neither do you - that’s the point. Drive to the conditions, slow down be aware. It’s going to take a lot longer to get where you need to be if you don’t make it to the end of the driveway.

AusAlert is a new national warning system that uses the latest technology to send emergency messages to compatible mobile devices.

There are two levels of alert:
⚠️ Priority Alert
🚨 Critical Alert

So, what’s the difference? 🤔

⚠️ A priority alert is used when there is a high level of threat.
You can turn off notifications for Priority Alerts in your phone settings, and your device won't vibrate or make the sound if it is on ‘silent’ or ‘do not disturb’.

🚨 A critical alert is the highest level of warning.
Your mobile device will vibrate and make a loud siren-like warning sound for about 10 seconds, even if it is on ‘silent’ or ‘do not disturb’. You can’t turn off Critical Alerts.

A Priority Alert test is scheduled at 10:30 am on Wednesday 10 June 2026 near Molonglo Emergency Services Station.

If you are in the test area, or neighbouring suburbs including Duffy, Wright, Coombs and Holder, your mobile devices, such as mobile phones, tablets and smart watches, may receive a test alert.

If receiving a Priority Alert might disrupt you or cause you or a family member to feel unsafe, you can choose to opt out. Find out more https://www.ausalert.gov.au/community-resources/staying-safe-ausalert

Make me a base as fast as you can.
Whack, and pack it, and mark it with B
Make it the perfect base for C.E.C 🎶 🎶

All jokes aside - we are at layer 3 of the base, and it’s looking good.

Weather gods are being super supportive (which is unusual) - rained when we needed to wet the base and a couple of days of sunshine now to help it set.

When nature lends a helping hand to identify the low spots!! (Consistent rain since the wee hours of the morning).

Pretty happy so far, this is “pre” second laser level, and any compaction. Water shedding nicely for the vast majority. When water sheds well from your base - you’re setup for a good all weather surface!!!

A good working guide to where we can improve drainage out side too - but it’s all headed in the right direction!

I must admit I haven’t headed in that direction on horse back in the longest time - but good to know we’ve been catered for!!
