The Canberra studio will be opening May 4th. I am excited to be able to have my space and resources on hand again. My happy place becomes my students' happy place. I travel back to Jindabyne once a fortnight to work with high school kids. An extra trip this week to coach them in rehearsals for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory 😀😀😀

Some nails bitten last night but our Jindy girl Kesha is through to the Grand Finale of Australian Idol. She has always had an exceptional quality to her voice and performance delivery and it is a joy to have watched her grow and shine and take on, what can be, the difficult platform of reality competitions.

A great part of teaching is the reciprocity of music both teacher and student can introduce to each other. While I have been in Jindabyne for the last 9 years my studio taught predominantly teenagers. Spotify Wrapped tells me I have the listening age of a 21 year old! I love exposing students to music they may not have heard before.
As a younger student learning classical music, my lovely teacher Lois challenged me to learn and perform the Pergolesi Stabat Mater. I obsessed over the Emma Kirkby and James Bowman CD I had to buy (WAY before YouTube).
What a gift then to finally get to hear it live with Greta Claringbould and Tobias Cole and relive the gift my teacher gave me.
