Women working together 💫
Anangu artists periodically undertake large-scale paintings where multiple artists work in collaboration. Tjatu (together) was initiated by Betty Muffler and Maringka Burton, who in addition to being senior artists, are also both Ngangkari (traditional healers), highly regarded for their skill and knowledge. Fellow senior woman Kunmanara (Nellie Ngampa) Coulthard was also a project leader, encouraging and guiding the younger women’s’ contributions to the painting. Other contributors include Beverly Brumby, Judith Walkabout, Kaylene Whiskey, Priscilla Singer, Raylene Walatinna, and Rosalind Tjanyari.
