Want to know more about the choir or share information about other Monaro Folk Society groups with festival-goers this weekend? Drop into the choir's stall on Sunday 9 February 10am-4.30pm.

We will have an information stall at the Multicultural Festival this Sunday 9 February 10am-4.30pm. Come along and say hello. Maybe join in a sign-along!

Just a reminder to join us for an evening of Scandinavian social dancing and an opportunity to enjoy traditional tunes in an informal setting. There will be couple dances such as waltz and hambo along with some simple group dances which we will lead.

Josefina Paulson is a 'riksspelman' and world champion of the nyckelharpa (Swedish keyed fiddle) while her husband Fredrik Bengtsson is an acclaimed folk/jazz musician (double bass, mandola). They are joined by Melbourne-based musicians Louise Godwin (cello) and Jessica Foot (violin, hardanger fiddle, oboe, cor anglais).

Entry by donation to support our visitors. Tea and coffee provided.

Bush dancing at Turner on Monday 25 August

Our regular weekly bush dance event in Turner continues on Monday (25 August). 6.15pm to 7.45pm at the North Canberra Baptist Church hall.

Live music by the Bush Capital Band. We also welcome any musicians who are interested in having a go at playing this style of music to come along and join in the fun.
Entry is $5 for members of the Society, $7 for non-members. (EFTPOS payment facilities - credit card and debit card - available).

All dances taught and called by experienced callers. No prior dancing knowledge or experience, and no partner, needed.

Dancing at Turner continues every Monday night (except for ACT public holidays) until the end of November.
