Red Tent : Canberra

Red Tent : Canberra The Canberra Red Tent was started by Hollie B. in 2009, a year of facilitation by Anastasia Hawkins and now this page is directed by Wendy Phillis. Beautiful!

Each month we hold the Space for Women in the Red Tent. Its a Sacred Space, filled with Woman's stories and laughter, successes and tears. Always we share, we inspire and we are reminded that whether or not we knew a Woman before this night, our Journeys reflect each other's Truths ever so much. In pre-history, the Red Tent or Moonlodge was a place where the women of a tribe or village would come together each month to BE in the Sacred Space of Woman Power. The Red Tent is a place to return to the Self, to share Woman Stories, to meditate, and to re-member our innate Wisdom. The Moon Lodge has a relationship to the Oracle - the Woman who delves into the depths of her unconscious Self to bring back information for the growth and good of her whole tribe. When women circle together we create a loving, supportive space to share and grow. We SEE the other women in the circle as equals and sisters, initiating ourselves into the deeper meaning of Women's Power, and the Sacred Self. Each time you visit the Red Tent, you allow your Self to open to your inner Wisdom. You will open to the song and story of all Women and, most importantly you will experience the Sacred Journey of You. The Red Tent is a place for you to return to your Self, and BE Sacred. What to expect from a Red Tent with Hollie B. and Rachel Vines :::
A Canberra Red Tent Experience is about sharing, caring and nourishment of Your Soul. Each Woman is asked to sit in her complete authenticity, to be True to her needs and desires, rather than be concerned with 'what people think of me' or worry about what is happening in day-to-day life. You will
~ share your Woman Story in Sacred Circle
~ delve into your Inner Self through sharing
~ witness the Sacred Journey of other Women
~ integrate your Inner Wisdom with your Being
~ commune together in nourishment with food and love
~ have the opportunity to create precious memories through craft and art
~ have a beautiful time and lots of FUN! What is the importance of the Circle? When women sit together in Circle, we acknowledge that we are all equal, although our journeys that have led us here may be very different. It is a Sacred Space to relax and BE your authentic Self. The words spoken and the stories told are heard by each woman present, and the woman with the story is honoured for the part she plays in the co-creation of the Sacred Space. This is why we call it Secret Women's Business, for it is a place where women find nourishment and wholeness, inspiration and integrity, and honour passion and compassion. Now is that the kind of environment you would like your daughters to enter when they become a woman? Why bring a plate? Hollie was once told a story by a Dutch immigrant to Australia "When my family attended our first barbecue in Australia we were told to bring a plate. We thought, how strange these Australians are, yet we brought along the best plate my mother owned. Imagine our surprise when we were told, 'No you bring a plate of food!' That would have been so much simpler to say!"
This Australian phrase that has become such an integral part of our social culture actually comes from a much older tradition; for thousands of years women have gathered together, swapping recipes and sharing tips on nourishment and the delight of flavour together. Every gathering of Women allows for the swap and exchange of love and wisdom, passion and nousihment, so of course, we share food in the same way!
