The hills are alive this week as THE SOUND OF MUSIC returns to the ANU Film Group on Friday in commemoration of its 60th anniversary last year, presented in partnership with the Embassy of Austria. And on Saturday, experience WOLFRAM at 5 pm, acclaimed director Warwick Thornton's follow-up to SWEET COUNTRY as well as the action-packed sequel to the big screen adaptation of the hit video game series, MORTAL KOMBAT II, at 7:30 pm.

In Austria, free-spirited Maria (Julie Andrews) becomes governess to the seven unruly children of Captain von Trapp (Christopher Plummer), but the threat of WWII is ever looming in this 60th anniversary screening of the beloved musical. (G, 174 mins)

Due to an unexpected and unavoidable change in venue availability, we regret to inform you that our upcoming screening of has been postponed from its original date of Friday 26 June. Instead, the new British rom-com will now screen a few days later on SUNDAY 28 JUNE at the same 7:30 PM start time.

We apologise for all inconvenience caused by this change, and hope that those hoping to see the film will still be able to do so on its new date.

Rug up and pack your bags, because this week the ANU Film Group is taking you on a trip to an Aussie farm town for the ultimate debutante ball in Rebel Wilson's directorial debut, THE DEB, as well as back in time to 2008 with the hit time-travelling Canadian comedy, NIRVANNA THE BAND THE SHOW THE MOVIE.

If you're musically inclined, you'll want to discover the origins of the Shakers in THE TESTAMENT OF ANN LEE starring Amanda Seyfried, or delve into the storied life of a legendary French composer in ONCE UPON A TIME MICHEL LEGRAND.

Don’t forget that we’re re-screening DAVID ATTENBOROUGH: A LIFE ON OUR PLANET tonight (Sunday). The screening will begin at the earlier start time of 6 pm, with doors opening for entry from 5:30 pm.

Our original screening on May 8 was a full house, so if you missed out then or weren't able to make it, here's another chance to celebrate Sir David’s 100th birthday on the big screen.

Tonight's screening of the acclaimed, Oscar-nominated THE VOICE OF HIND RAJAB is a special collaboration presented in partnership with the ANU Law Reform and Social Justice program, the ANU International Law on Palestine Project and the Centre for Arab & Islamic Studies ANU.

The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with international law and human rights experts discussing the key themes and implications of the film:
• Dr Tamara Kayali Browne: Palestinian scholar, poet and activist
• Amra Lee: UN and NGO humanitarian, protection, peace and conflict worker
• A/Prof Noam Peleg: UNSW international children’s rights and human rights law expert

It's going to be a massive week with six films – count 'em – screening, headed up by spectacular MICHAEL, the Michael Jackson biopic and one of the year's biggest films to date.

Plus, a devastating, Oscar-nominated true story (THE VOICE OF HIND RAJAB) followed by a special panel discussion, an adaptation of a beloved Enid Blyton tale (THE MAGIC FARAWAY TREE), a horrifying new take on a classic movie monster (LEE CRONIN'S THE MUMMY), and a 50th anniversary presentation of ALL THE PRESIDENT'S MEN.

And don't forget that we'll also be re-screening DAVID ATTENBOROUGH: A LIFE ON OUR PLANET this Sunday at the earlier start time of 6 PM after its original screening on May 8 ended up being a full house. As before, Sunday's screening will free and open to all to attend, so be sure to spread the word!
