North v South - The Battle for Canberra

North v South - The Battle for Canberra This page is about answering the question of which side of the lake is best. This year, that question will be answered.

Since Lake Burley Griffin was officially completed in 1964, Canberrans have asked the question, which side of the lake is the best? This page is devoted to the friendly rivalry between North and South Canberra. This page is intended to be a fun way to share what we all like about our part of Canberra and also have some silly Canberra related fun. This page is also to alert Canberrans to Impro ACT’

s efforts to help answer the question of which side of the lake is best. For three Fridays; May 30, Jun 13, Jul 4, Impro ACT will use competitive improvised comedy to pit teams of improvisers from the North and South of Canberra against each other in contests played out with the same vigour of a State of Origin match. Given that Canberra houses some of the country’s quickest thinkers who are capable of providing extremely creative answers to the curliest of queries it is appropriate that Theatresports™ is used to settle Canberra’s most important question. We hope you have fun with this page as we celebrate Canberra or at least the parts you like!

What is this thing on this Friday June 19? A bunch of the coolest improvisers from Impro ACT are doing a fully sick independent production with Punko Regarto!

Oh, no, that so totally sucks, because everyone with any sense will go to this one and forget about poor little....., oh, wait a minute... Impro ACT doesn't have any other shows this week.

OK, I take it back. You should totally go to this, and we'll even be expecting you to go, unless you have a note from you parents confirming you are actually sick.

Friday July 3, rock up from 5:00pm, Thank God It's Theatre is back!!
Blank Cultural Platform, Level 2, 131 City Walk, Canberra City. Tickets: https://events.humanitix.com/tgit

Canberra's most casual, entertaining, and cost effective way to ease into the weekend, with some very open mic variety from 5:00, very fun Sink or Swim improv show from 6:00, and cheap drinks.

Our new venue has a super cool, almost 'secret door bar' vibe, but it's easy to get to, and you'll be one of the people in the know 😉

Simply enter the glass auto doors leading into that arcade right next to King O'Malley's pub, and walk through to the other end, and take the lift to Level 2 for all the good times.

See you then!
