cross stitch and tapestry supplies means we are a true one-stop shop. Free parking at the front door and Wheel chair accessible. We offer a range of paid classes run by talented and patient teachers - sign up to our Newsletter to keep up to date. Every Thursday we have Stitch'n Chat from 10am to 2pm - gold coin donation for tea/coffe and biscuits. All the above means we are a true One Stop Shop staffed with people who know and love what they do .... why would you go anywhere else :) Why not hop in and have a look for yourself. Crafty Frog... the name. Many people ask me why I called my business Crafty Frog. Easy it combines my two loves - after my family of course - craft and frogs, and by having a generic name it has enabled me to expand into whatever area I choose, whilst having a business name that couldn’t be forgotten. Those who have been to the shop will by now have seen my beautiful red-eyed green tree frog, sitting on his lily pad complete with needle in mouth and my ever-increasing range of frog mementos decorating the shop.

New Opal sock yarn has arrived — and this collection is a beauty.

Opal Mitternachtstraum (Midnight Dream) features eight self-patterning colourways, each inspired by the dreams of a sleeping animal. From Dogbone Puppy Dreams and Moonlight Picnic to Cuddling at Home and Ice Swimming with Friends, every ball knits into its own colourful pattern.

Each 100g ball contains approximately 425 metres of 4 ply yarn — enough to make a pair of adult socks. It is also lovely for gloves, mittens, hats and scarves.

We have all eight colours, but only limited quantities. New Opal collections generally sell quickly, so we would not leave choosing your favourite for too long.

Available now in store and online at Crafty Frog.

🧶 FRIDAY FREEBIE – V-Stitch Crochet Blanket

Looking for a crochet project that's easy to settle into, but still has plenty of texture and interest?

This week's Friday Freebie comes from **Daisy Cottage Designs** — a lovely striped **V-Stitch Crochet Blanket with HDC**.

The V-Stitch creates the pretty textured rows you can see in the photographs, while rows of half double crochet (HDC) provide the contrasting stripes. Once you've got the stitch pattern going, it's a wonderfully repetitive project for working on in front of the television or over a cup of coffee.

**The pattern is FREE to use on the Daisy Cottage Designs website.**

https://daisycottagedesigns.net/v-stitch-crochet-blanket/

Don't be put off if you see an option to purchase the printable PDF. You don't need to buy it to make the blanket. Scroll further down the page and you'll find the complete written crochet instructions available free.

🎥 **Prefer to watch rather than read?**
There's also a video tutorial on the page showing you how to work the pattern.

One particularly useful feature is that the blanket is easy to resize. The designer explains how to adjust the starting chain, so you could make anything from a baby blanket or pram blanket through to a much larger throw.

What yarn do you need?

The original blanket uses **worsted-weight #4 yarn**. For Australian crocheters, I would start by looking amongst our **8 ply/DK to 10 ply/worsted yarns**, but we need to match the pattern's gauge rather than simply relying on the ply number.

If you'd like to make yours in a different yarn, send us a message or pop into Crafty Frog and we'll help you find something suitable.

Choose three colours like the original, or make it completely your own — two colours, tonals, brights, pastels or something to match your home.

Happy Friday and happy crocheting! 🐸

Sampling retirement 😉. Took the opportunity to hand deliver an expensive and heavy piece of equipment to a customer in Bermagui. While here we're checking out the local eateries and local attractions.... those that are open. Stopped in Braidwood and chatted with Bronwyn at the Quilt shop. All thanks to my fabulous staff who are looking after the shop for me 😊
