Launching a new service offering lessons for 1-on-1, or small group bookings for makeup, costuming, props, & producer boot camp.
What can you learn:
Makeup for stage, glamour, characters, drag queen or king (my speciality).
Costuming on a budget, hunting for costume elements and making use of what you have.
Stage presence, basic dance, body shapes and flourishes to stand out and connect with your audience. All bodies, all abilities.
Character and act development.
MC and hosting.
Veil fan dance - beginner to advanced.
Contact juggling - beginner to intermediate.
Contact staff and cane twirling - beginner to intermediate.
Three ball juggling - beginner.
Sideshow including human blockhead, balloon eating, body stapling.
Fire dance and prop manipulation basics - including palm candles, torches, staff, fans, swords.
Working with fire safely.
Showbiz bootcamp - what to know, what to expect, what to avoid in being booked.
Producer bootcamp - run your own thing like a boss and with (minimal) headaches.
Roving ready - get sorted to roam around at events.
Literally anything else you want to ask! We’ll do the best to connect you with someone.
Training can be in home, or at the Blank Cultural Platform in the Alias Performance office or the open carpeted space. Training spaces and toilets are accessible. Solo times can be negotiated to suit, stay tuned for small group workshops.
New skills can be trialled at the Gill Frill Vaudeville busking shows in Garema Place to test things in front of a crowd, or go off and share with the world.
Be invited to share in Artist Afters gatherings to meet more folks in the scene and grow the community.
Fees are set per hour and can be adjusted on a sliding scale - DM to chat.
