A much-loved part of the market community since joining the Old Bus Depot Markets in 1997, Karen Kowald has been designing and creating beautiful pearl jewellery since 1996. Through Moondrop Pearls, Karen brings elegance, creativity, and timeless beauty to every piece. Specialising in genuine cultured pearl jewellery, Karen carefully handcrafts stunning earrings, necklaces, and bracelets designed to suit any occasion.



With a beautiful range of colours, shapes, and lengths for both men and women, and even the occasional pearl piece for your furry friend, there is truly something special for everyone.



Since 2004, Karen has been proudly creating bespoke handmade pearl jewellery, personally selecting each pearl from trusted suppliers before transforming them into unique, high-quality designs. Her original and authentic creations have earned her a loyal following, with customers travelling from interstate and overseas year after year to add another timeless Moondrop Pearls piece to their collection.

Annette has been part of the Old Bus Depot Markets family for several years now, and her stall is one of those places you can't help but linger at. She makes everything by hand right here in Canberra, from hand-sculptured pots and charming fairy houses to miniature houses that double as incense or tea light holders. Each piece has its own character, and you can feel the thought and care that goes into making it.

Alongside her pottery, Annette brings her much-loved crocheted tea cosies and dryer balls, practical pieces made with the same quiet attention to craft.
