Meet Rex – Vintage Music and Films

For Rex, great music and classic films never go out of style.

Through Vintage Films and Music, Rex has built a treasure trove for collectors and anyone who loves the sounds and stories of decades gone by. With more than 30 boxes of vinyl to rummage through, you never quite know what gem you might uncover.

His collection celebrates the golden decades of the 1950s, ’60s and ’70s, with collectable vinyl records alongside vintage CDs, DVDs and books celebrating the history of film and music.

Whether you’re searching for a record you haven’t heard in years, rediscovering an old favourite, or simply love the thrill of flicking through vinyl, Rex’s stall is well worth a browse.

Meet Joelle Dulac – A Taste of Périgord in Canberra

For Joelle, truffles are more than a delicacy. They are the scent of winter, a connection to family and a treasured piece of her childhood in France.

Born and raised in Le Périgord, home of the famous Black Périgord Truffle (Tuber melanosporum), Joelle remembers her mother returning from the woods with the family dog and a basket of freshly found truffles. Today, she continues that tradition at LA TRUFFIERE, her family truffle farm just 35 minutes from Canberra.

Joelle brings her beautiful home-produced fresh truffles, truffle oils, salts and butters to the Old Bus Depot Markets.

A Father’s Day Treat:

This Sunday 6 September, Joelle is offering FREE freshly grated truffle over any food for dads and father figures, while stocks last!

Bring along your favourite market food and Joelle will grate fresh truffle over the top. She recommends avoiding spicy dishes, as strong chilli and spices can overpower the truffle’s delicate earthy aroma and flavour.

And you don't have to be a dad to join in! Anyone else wanting to experience freshly grated truffle can have it added to their food for the special price of just $5.50.

Meet the makers behind Lush Soy Candles & Diffusers and Browne & Blue!

For the past 10 years, Kate and her mum Marion have been the faces behind Lush Soy Candles & Diffusers, handmaking their products from their small workshop in Goulburn, NSW. What started with a shared love of the way fragrance can transform a home has grown into a much-loved range of hand-poured soy candles, reed diffusers, room and linen sprays, melts and more.

Community and markets have always been a big part of the Lush story, and this year also marks 10 years of attending the Old Bus Depot Markets. Over the years, many familiar faces have become wonderful repeat customers and friends, often returning with their favourite glassware ready to be refilled.

More recently, Kate purchased Browne & Blue from its original owner and creator, Rachelle. Browne & Blue had already been part of the Old Bus Depot Markets for a couple of years under Rachelle, so it feels right at home alongside Lush. Now you’ll find both businesses together at the markets, with Browne & Blue bringing a splash of colour alongside Lush’s beautiful home fragrance range. Browne & Blue is all about fun, colourful and feel-good jewellery and accessories, with a gorgeous range of handmade polymer clay and acrylic earrings, brooches and more.

So whether you’re looking for your favourite home fragrance, need a candle or diffuser refill, are searching for a gift, or simply can’t resist a bright new pair of earrings, pop by and say hello to Kate and Marion at the Old Bus Depot Markets.
