A bittersweet day for the art world today - the overprint of "Professor Hyatt's Tarot" cards, which were being given away in a tiny community gallery in the local park, have had the last of the stock put out to share for free with anyone passing by.

The final cards will no doubt go quickly as they always do, especially with Farmer's market tomorrow, and I like to think John Hyatt would have got a kick out of knowing his mini art pieces have reached hundreds, maybe thousands, of people of all ages and backgrounds - more than a limited Gallery viewing. I feel priveleged to have been part of the project and it's a testament to John that whilst he has passed on, his artwork remains alive and kicking - relevant, popular and loved.

And fear not, you haven't seen the last of the Professor's Tarot in all its glory yet! Plans are afoot... more soon ;)

Lovely arvo at Strathnairn Arts Members' Exhibition - which I managed to squeeze one of my own pieces into ("Janey and Russo")

Lovely venue (and curry in the cafe!) recommend a visit... there's a bittersweet story to the pic... I encountered Janey and her dog Russo in the “pooch play” area of Haig Park, Braddon, and she kindly allowed me to take their image, which I used as basis for paint onto cotton rag cavas.

We chatted about Janey's past and present life, and how Russo sustains her with his unconditional and non-judgemental affection.
She was keen to talk about how animals provide companionship when all you can do is isolate, and she was happy to share her image and story.

Janey is unemployed and often homeless due to bi-polar and described Russo as "my knight in furry armour, he keeps me going."

If you're after a (very) early Chrimbo pressie you can follow link - my details are #26 ;)

All looking good for first day of Dark Snow exhibition Monday... wallspainted with quick dry and non fume paint, pictures and items dropped off, Gallery Mgr back off leave and Sunday access to set up... there's just ONE thing; need a transparent glass or perspex tray to fit into central pedestal display, which will contain 'black snow' type granules and a fire hazard sign... needs to be 30cm x 30cm square (or rectaangle at a push) and a bit like image below...

Bunnings, Kmart and Big W are all either too big or way too small.... If any one has such a thing to hand would be great if i could borrow (til Dec 8th). Failing that i'll sort something 😉 CHEERS!
