🏁SDMA - 2026 TRI SERIES ROUND REPORT🏁
We enjoyed 2 massive days of racing for Round 2 of the Tri-Series Hillclimb at SDMA last weekend.
The Tri-Series event held between the Canberra, Cooma and Wollongong Hillclimbs is always a big day on the calendar – and this year did not disappoint!
It was great to see the clubs set up together, enjoying our wonderful facility and mingling with members from the other clubs. The vibe around the pits was friendly and smiley, with everyone having a great time and enjoying the beautiful weather.
Saturday kicked off with a practice session for the Tri-Series competitors. We saw some very impressive times on the board, giving an indication of what to expect on race day – we were all excited!
As the competition heated up on Sunday, so did the sunshine, which made for a much grippier track than we’ve seen in quite a while. We saw 3 new class records, with Zac Le Lievre (Cooma) taking home a class record and the fastest time of the day in the head-turning Force PC, with a time of 38.85! Absolutely incredible.
It was great to see everything from unique race car builds, street cars and beloved dailies take on the track together. The variety of cars made for some incredible spectating and stunning photo opportunities.
Thank you again to all our wonderful officials and volunteers – it is easy to forget just how much effort goes into putting on an event like this over 2 days, so you all deserve a shout out! And thank you to our wonderful Pit-Stop Café volunteers, who keep us fed and hydrated at each event without skipping a beat.
Before we start getting excited for the Wollongong (Huntley Hillclimb) round coming up in November, let’s see the results from Round 2, including the current points score…
