In the spirit of International Women's Day, come and hear the life story of extraordinary Victorian woman, Anna Bishop, who defied all social expectations to run away with her lover and carve an artistic career.
Against the odds she survived extremes: shipwreck, tiger attack, cholera epidemics, bandito hostage and the goldfields of the world.
She changed the musical complexion of Australia and in her three tours to Australia, her spirit is woven into our colonial history and national character.
