It was a busy week this week in my role as Ambassador for Pegasus Riding for the Disabled. I met with ACT Ministers Chris Steele, Suzanne Orr and Yvette Berry on Tuesday and Senator Katy Gallagher on Wednesday. Pegasus Riding for the Disabled of the ACT

For more than 50 years, Pegasus Riding for the Disabled has helped children with disability build confidence, strength and independence through horse riding.

Now, the charity says a planned duplication of Drake-Brockman Drive will make its outdoor arena and trail rides unusable, putting key parts of its program at risk unless funding is found to relocate the facilities.

"We are at the point where we're needing more than just good reception. We need some fairly definite, meaningful action," interim CEO John Riley said.

This week I was announced as an Ambassador for Pegasus Riding for the Disabled and I am honoured to serve as their Ambassador. My connection to Pegasus began when I was just five years and it was where my love of horses started. Over the years, Pegasus became a place of safety, belonging and growth-helping build my confidence, resilience and independence, and has remained a source of support through my life’s challenges. As Ambassador I hope to help share the impact of Pegasus and champion the opportunities their programs create for children, young people and families. As part of that role I helped welcome Senator David Pocock and Yvette Berry MLA to Pegasus this week.

Pegasus is proud to announce Danbartart Daniel Bartholomaeus as our Pegasus Ambassador for 2026, and we are proud and honoured to partner with Daniel in this role.

Daniel is an artist, mental health advocate and the 2025 ACT Young Australian of the Year, known for his powerful work promoting inclusion, self-expression and empowerment—particularly for young neurodivergent people and people with disability. Many will also recognise Daniel from the ABC television program The Assembly (Seasons 2 and 3).

Daniel’s connection to Pegasus began when he was just five years old. Over the years, Pegasus became a place of safety, belonging and growth—helping build confidence, resilience and independence, and remaining a source of support through life’s challenges. As Ambassador, Daniel will help share the impact of Pegasus and champion the opportunities our programs create for children, young people and families.
