I watched the story of Hachiko the Akita that used to wait daily for his owner to return from work at Shibuya Station in Japan. One day his owner didn’t return (he died of a cerebral aneurysm at work). From that day for around 10 years, until he died, Hachiko returned to the train station waiting for his owner. This story really moved me and had me in tears. As I have always done when something upsets me I turn to my art as my way of expressing my emotions. This is the result of me reading Hachiko’s story. An oil painting of Hachiko which I aim to live auction at the Bus Stop Films Ball in May with all proceeds going to BSF. The pictures show the progression of the work.
