This is clearly not good enough. D/deaf and disabled festival goers deserve equal access to music in 2023. Upbeat is committed to helping to make these changes through training sessions and accessibility education for music professionals. Get in touch at [email protected] to find out more 🫶🏼

Festival-goers with disability say they were left stressed and disappointed by their experience at Sydney's Laneway Festival this year.

Upbeat is thrilled to be a vendor at this upcoming event run by the incredible Burntout Bookings! CBR GRRRLS To The Front - a celebration of International Women's Day - is happening at The Basement and will feature some amazing acts including VOIID, Box Dye, Ma*****st and Pretty in Punk

This will be a gig to celebrate the women in our local music scene and help ensure their voices keep being lifted and heard. To further show this impact, BurntOut is donating $5 from every ticket sold to Girls Rock Canberra, helping give more young rockstars the opportunity to attend and learn at their rock camps.

Also being helped by this event will be Share The Dignity. Simply bring along an old handbag or backpack with some toiletries inside (we recommend pads, tampons, sunscreen, deodorant, toothbrush and toothpaste, moisturiser) to help women in need.

Come along and meet women in your local music scene making changes to the industry and forging pathways for women and non-binary people to have more equal opportunity to careers in music. Would be great to see you there!

This event is sponsored by YWCA Canberra and The Joyful Business Club thanks to the Great Ydeas Grant. Artwork by Mint Illustrations

Had a very productive session at the Get (Sh)it Done session yesterday. I got my Grind To Ground Grounded in to my veggie/herb patch. Here are my my before, during and after shots 🙂

The session really helped me to stay focused and it was a great job done before I focus on other musical things…

Thanks Ruth and Upbeat!
