Precipice is a 3 day event that brings together experienced improvisers with a diverse range of practices and styles from all around Australia and the world. Each year in September Precipice is held at:
Ainslie + Gorman Arts Centre, 55 Ainslie Ave, Braddon, Canberra
(under the auspices of the QL2 Centre for Youth Dance)

Each morning a workshop is held. Each evening there are public perf

ormances. Our lighting genius works hard in the bio box making us look great. This is a great opportunity to show your improvising in a fully equipped performance space and under theatre lights. Precipice provides a great opportunity for improvisers to work with peers and perform for each other and the public over the course of three days. An opportunity to watch, discuss, collaborate, investigate and practise. In 2017 Precipice celebrates 22 years of Spring Improvising in Canberra at Gorman House. The Precipice event was originally connected to the Australian Choreographic Centre’s annual programme. Now Peter Trotman and Tony Osborne independently organise, curate and run the Precipice event.

2016 saw the 21st anniversary of the opening of the Australian Choreographic Centre which under the directorship of Mark Gordon brought (Peter) Trotman & (Andrew) Morrish to Canberra to perform as part of the centre's launch. All inquiries and registration requests should be directed to
