It seems I just keep writing this thing, and it seems that more and more of you are getting something from reading it, so I'm glad it's working out for all of us 🙂
On a classic Bulgarian train ride, a week or so ago, somewhere deep in the countryside between Sofia and Plovdiv, I glanced down at where the word count was up to (302 000), and I'd only just started the chapter in which I write out all of my original show formats that people are very welcome to perform, (or to invite me over to direct for you, of course).
In early 2024, I began to write down everything I feel I have learned, experienced, conceptualised, or produced, in the field of theatrical stage improvisation, including exercises and full course lesson plans, concepts, philosophy, travel anecdotes, teaching tips, inspirations and motivations, in every topic area imaginable from character to narrative to relatioship to music, etc, and now the show formats; everything.
It was originally intended to simply document my involvement in this life-changing area, regardless of how many people ever read it, and before my genes took me into a zone where I started forgetting stuff, but it seems that, instead, I keep remembering more stuff!!
So, instead of making it a book or five that people buy as single big pieces, I'm following the lead of the literary greats of the 19th Century, just releasing it as weekly journal entries.
Some of my earliest subscribers have over 100 entries, so far, and new folks join regularly. It's super cheap, so I don't think I'll be retiring on this, but I am certainly often found to be retiring with it.
So, hey, if you'd like to just read a few little bits of my writing, free, without the more detailed and more practical content, you can take a look at the profile page: https://www.facebook.com/an.improviser.s.learning.journal
Or if you'd like to try out a small subscription to get entries in your email that you can keep and compile forever, with loads more practical stuff you can use, you can do that here: https://impro.com.au/learning-journal/
Thanks, so much, to all my existing subscribers. Your positive feedback helps me know it's worthwhile and keeps me writing day after day ❤
