Meet one of our panellists for College Conference, Jakida Smith. Jakida is a dancer for wiradjuriechoesconsultancy and a results-driven leader in her community who is passionate about sharing culture and art. She has danced for a number of high officials, including the Prime Minister, David Hurley, and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Jakida’s work aims to lead the steps to create a better future for all Australians. She was recently featured in the The Canberra Times for International Women’s Day to talk about what it’s like to be an Aboriginal Woman.

“Our Wiradjuri Dance Troupe’s very first performance was in fact one of their biggest. They hit the mainstage of the 2018 National Multicultural Festival in Canberra, performing to an audience of 1000s with Wiradjuri Echoes.

The Border Mail gave us the front page to send us off!

Our Dance Troupe is made possible by the ongoing love, guidance and support of Uncle Duncan Smith and his family.

They invited our students to share the stage at this prestigious event (despite having never performed publicly before!) and secured funding to pay for the whole trip. Then, they did the same in 2019. The confidence and connection they gained from these trips was invaluable” / James Falon Primary School
