Something a little different…

I’ve started working on T̲h̲e̲ ̲F̲i̲n̲e̲ ̲P̲r̲i̲n̲t̲ ̲S̲e̲r̲i̲e̲s̲.

It’s a series of small works mounted on wooden blocks, each one drawing attention to details that, like fine print, are often hidden, overlooked, or pushed aside.

Part experiment, part exploration, part evidence.

Important truths are often hiding in the fine print.

More soon.

‘Dreaming [of a better world]’
Features in Where I Belong group exhibition 5-22 Dec.

I grew up in the Illawarra, between the mountains and the sea. I do not belong there anymore, but the old feeling of belonging still hits when I go back. It lasts a moment, then fades. I live beyond the mountains now, carried by a different life, but part of me still drifts between the two. The artwork was once aimed at the whole world, but now it is personal. The better world I am dreaming of is the one where belonging felt simple.

‘Pier Pressure: What’s visible tells one story, what’s buried tells another’

Newcastle’s Macquarie Pier sits atop a train line. Buried now but not erased, it still holds the past in place. This work reflects on what progress builds over. The tracks once carried industry; from long before that, the site holds deep meaning for First Nations people. History beneath progress.

My work is in this exhibition, and is the featured exhibition image, ‘Pier Pressure’ 🖤🖤🖤 If you’re in Newcastle go meet all the artists this Saturday! Sadly I can’t make it!

Meet The Artists ~ This Saturday 22 Nov, 11 am - 1 pm 🖌

House of Stories is our annual exhibition, showcasing the incredible diversity of works created by these artists. From polished masterpieces to rough sketches, intimate journal entries, and experimental pieces, the exhibition reflects the myriad practices and perspectives nurtured within our residencies. Each work offers a glimpse into the transformative experience of creating at Lighthouse Arts.

This year, 20 artists come together to celebrate the power of art and storytelling in its many forms. Join us to experience the creativity and connection inspired by this unique space, set against the striking backdrop of the Nobbys-Whibayganba headland.

Featured Artists: Sharee Andrae, Belinda Dorey, Petra Gotthardt, Jules Gray, Dorothee Heibel, Michèle Heibel, James Jenkins, Damien Linnane, Margaret Lukas, Rose Marimon, Adele Merdjanic, Anna Moran, Melissa Murry, Barbara Nanshe, Marius O’Shea, Vanessa Preston, Madeleine Prior, Karin Ronning-Meagher, Leah Stevens, and Bernadette Trainor.

Saturday 22 November, 2025 – Sunday 25 January, 2026
Open on Saturdays and Sundays 10 am – 4 pm
Closed public holidays.
