Update April 2020:

2020 started by offering up some much-needed clear air on the Adventure Waters Project. (AWP): Albeit the Coronavirus is proving to be an unwanted distraction in the Tourism Industry.
The long-term impairment to businesses and tourism operators will be harsh with unemployment doubling to over 10 % by June. Hence, we are now concentrating on opportunities via Governments post C- 19.

Industry Updates: Water Parks

Water Parks were continuing their healthy growth and popularity worldwide and remain the most popular of all Theme Parks with families across most age demographics.
The IAAPA Benchmark report of 2018/19 reflects that 84% of Water Park guests are in the 3 to 49 age demographics. Interestingly the trend continues to grow of Grandparents having more involvement with their Grandchildren; hence, the age demographic (50 to 64) makes up a further 9 % of all attendees to Water Parks.

When combining the above demographics with other statistics from the report, such as 63% of Water Parks around the world can only trade for 180 days or less per year due to unfavourable weather conditions, this confirms the Adventure Waters project is in the exclusive worldwide club of (12%) that can trade 363 days a year.

Industry Updates: Trending now

The newest industry additions are surfing Gardens (wave pools for surfing)
The new URBNSURF surf wave garden outlet has was opened (January 5th) in Melbourne. https://urbnsurf.com/
It makes a smart and beautiful addition to Melbourne’s entertainment offering. It will be interesting to see how the Melbourne Community support such a concept; however, early indications are sound and before C- 19 were exceeding their forecasts.
I have been in early stage talks with Andrew (CEO) as we investigated a possible hybrid for AW, consisting of Waterslides & Attractions plus a commercially viable version (size) of Surf / Wave pool facility. We continue early-stage talks and look forward to holding further discussions once they have settled this exciting product into their marketplace.

UPDATE ON INVESTMENT PROPOSALS:

Felhope Pty Ltd trading as Adventure Waters Project Cairns: ( AWP ) has received conditional support from Government's concerning funding and grants in which did enable AWP Management to enter into early-stage talks around funding negotiations with investors and or their advisors/ agents; however, we anticipate these talks will stall until the aftermath and fallout is known from C-19 outbreak in which could be some time.

At this stage and if or when talks resume, the said investors would acquire a percentage stake in the overall AW proposal and will be issued share capital by way of a scheme of arrangement at an indicative price of (TBA) per ordinary share ("Proposal"). (CIC -Applies in these possible transactions)

The AWP Management has adopted the firm view based on previous experience and under the current climate; any ("Proposal") put forward will be subject to completion of a strict due diligence process into any investment vehicle put forward to ensure its ability to have cash reserves it claims and balance sheet to see the project to its end.

The Adventure Waters Management advises our current stakeholders that in respect to any proposal coming forward, that there is likely to be a legal requirement ( especially since the Morrison Government announced changes to the foreign review board investment investigation limit being reduced to $0) that some or all in any proposed investment vehicle will possibly need to make a public announcement of their investment intention going forward and would be subject to FIRB approval.

The Directors of Felhope Pty Ltd are keen to see the AWP finally start construction and deliver this much sought-after piece of infrastructure for the region and believe it’s more important than ever that this project receives support from all levels of government in the current unprecedented climate.

The AWP is perceived as critical need infrastructure and will significantly help in the recovery of the Far North Queensland region and its confidence.

Hence, we have written to Premier Palaszczuk and Tourism Minster Jones putting forward a proposal to make use of several opportunities via the Palaszczuk Government and the Federal Government range of support programs, we believe the timing has never been better for State Governments to get involved and think outside the traditional box when it comes to supporting new infrastructure in the regions, The Adventure Waters Water Park Project is shovel ready and will quickly create hundreds of jobs during construction plus over 200 positions once operation, there are few, if any projects of this size that enjoy such a high need and demand plus community support in the region and possible the state that can be implemented almost immediately and hence contribute strongly to the rebuilding of tourism and construction in the region post C-19.

We will keep you posted on our talks while abiding by CIC

Adventure Waters Update – November 2016
Message from CEO: Paul Freebody

Plugged In: We today launch our new webpage in which will be up dated as we move closer to an opening date. www.adventurewaters.com.au

Our team has been busy preparing the next steps for a starting of construction in 2017
We are currently working towards our operational works permit from Cairns Regional Council.
Whilst this preparation work has been ongoing, I have spent the last 3 months upgrading and updating our very detailed information pack for our investors/lenders.
It has been unfortunate the delay incurred over the past 8 months whilst not of our doing it did give the unique opportunity for me to refocus on what we need in a JV partner to deliver the project to Cairns in a way that meets expectations.
Our team is fully aware of the high bar I set in my core requirements as we move forward talking with quality long-term partner/s for the project.
Experience has taught us that finding the right partners is paramount.
We are entered into negotiations with a range of interested parties. We will have more to say on this in the New Year.
Over the last 3 months a new direction has been implemented in relation to design including ride combinations in which allows us to create special zones such as ‘white knuckle’ (Teenage demographic), Family Raft rides for the entire family and two age related kids zones. The food and beverage outlets have been redesigned to bring us in line with best practice from around the world. This work was all underway-early last year and reflects both the community and the investment markets expectations.
The new world model of water parks are no longer just water parks to escape the heat of the day, albeit this is a main pillar of any planning process, water parks are now modern entertaining precincts within themselves and reflect a range of new exciting attractions, entertainment areas and modern food offerings, like qualified barista coffee stations, a choice of different food culture offering and corporate facilities.
All these divisions interlock and work together to make up a successful new era Water Park.
The recently completed revised Adventure Waters feasibility study reflects all these new modern and integrated entertainment areas, which include food, park design, rides, attractions, entertainment and special beverage offerings.
I will endeavor to keep the community updated, whilst ensuring to maintain our commercial in confidence discussions.

Update March 2016

The article which featured in the Cairns Post (attached) earlier in the week covers the journey we have been through over the last 8 years.

We are far more interested in the future of our venture than any previous hurdles we have overcome.

Numerous opportunities have been presented for Adventure Waters over the last few months. These opportunities range from a possible industry consortium (which is being worked on at the moment) to a possible security funding option from passive investors. It may be the case that a smaller park is required in its initial stages.

There is little to no doubt in my mind about the project proceeding.

It is now just a timing issue and what investment option/s suit the park and investors moving forward.

I can assure the community that our team remains committed and more determined than ever to deliver the project to Cairns.

My Regards

Paul

On behalf of the team at Adventure Waters Water Park we wish everyone a happy and exciting 2016.

Update January 2016

Note: Site office and Earth Moving Equipment.

• Rental of Site office: The local firm “Pioneer portables” unfortunately went into liquidation just before Christmas. In a show of support to this local firm we agreed to let BRI Ferrier Receivers (Cairns Office) terminate the lease and take the site office back as they had a buyer.

• The larger older Earth Moving Equipment were deemed not appropriate to be used on such a busy site, hence easier to sell units and make use of local contractors on hourly and daily rates.

• Main Park Update:

Paul and Kim Freebody remain fully committed to the Adventure Waters project and the Cairns community, however, are realistic with the knowledge that agreeing to the recent project take over bid from the Morris Group /Colonial Leisure Group is in the best interest of the Cairns community and the best way to ensure the Park proceeds this year.

When taking into account the current stable of Morris Group tourism ventures (listed below) it’s a smart acquisition from the Morris Group perspective.
• Nautilus Aviation. (Helicopters)
• Orpheus Island.
• Mt Mulligan Station and Tyrconnell Historic Gold Mine.
• Daintree Ecolodge,
• The Townsville Casino.

We look forward to delivering Adventure Waters Water Park to the region and thank you for your on going support.

Regards,

The Adventure Water Team.
