Centre Stage Dance Studios has been operating at Yorkeys Knob, Cairns since 2001. The studio offers first class tuition for boys and girls, in Classical Ballet, Modern, Tap, Contemporary, Cheerleading, Singing, Drama, and Hip Hop! Wow, it is nearly the end of the year, and time has passed so quickly! This year has been an especially exciting year, with the merging of both dance studios into one. It was wonderful to see students from both schools getting to know each other and to see so many new friendships being formed. Whilst at the beginning of the year, we purposely kept both studio names running, I feel the time has now come to unite both studios under one joined studio name. I am very excited to announce our new studio name:

💛 Unity Performing Arts Studio

'Unity' in dance means the feeling of wholeness in a dance achieved when all of the parts work together well.
I like this notion not only for the aspect of dance but also for the social dimension of a dance studio, with everyone working together in a respectful and kind manner.

Our Story

Centre Stage Dance Studios has been operating at Yorkeys K**b, Cairns since 2001. The studio offers first class tuition for boys and girls, in ACB Classical Ballet, Aerial Acrobatics, ISTD Modern, ISTD Tap, Cheerleading, Singing, and Hip Hop, with a special hip hop class for boys only! Students range from 4yrs to 18yrs. Principal Sandra Kuhn has been teaching dance for more than 29 years and has brought together a staff of caring, experienced teachers who put the students' needs first, whilst offering an outstanding quality of performing arts education.

Sandra herself, a teacher in several disciplines, trained at London Contemporary Dance College in England, and worked professionally throughout the UK. Teaching being her passion, Sandra came home to Australia and established a studio that would provide the fundamental technical training for students wanting to enter the professional dance industry, and also cater to those children for which dance is simply what they love to do!
