PechaKucha Night Cairns

PechaKucha Night Cairns Get out from behind those screens & share your creativity with the local community face to face. Be Each event has from 8 to 14 presenters.

PechaKucha Night is a presentation format in which stories & passions can be easily and informally shown. The name derives from a Japanese term for the sound of conversation ("chit-chat"). The idea behind PechaKucha is to keep presentaions concise, the interest level up and to have many presenters sharing their ideas within the course of one night. And so the 20X20 PechaKucha format was created:

each presenter is allowed a slideshow of 20 images, each shown for 20 seconds each. This results in a total presentation time of 6 min & 40 secs on a stage before the next presenter is up. Presenters (and much of the audience) are a diverse bunch ranging from lovers of design, architecture, photography, art and creative fields, science, community, land rovers, travel and much more...

PechaKucha nights are held in over 700 cities worldwide!

Introducing our awesome Volume 31 musician Talitha Jae!

Talitha Jae receives inspiration from a range of styles such as Jazz, Folk, Country, Indie, Pop, and Blues, to create her unique sound. She has received a string of awards including Top 10 national finalist in Listen Up Music Songwriting Festival (2018) and a semi-finalist in 2020, third place in the Folk/Acoustic category at the Australian Songwriters Association Awards in 2019 and top 30 in 2020, and second place at the Tablelands Folk Festival Songwriting Competition in 2019. Most recently, she was awarded Mental Health Foundation of Australia’s ‘Queensland Musician of the Year’.

Talitha Jae has performed at a number of festivals and supported artists such as Clare Bowditch and The Wolfe Brothers.

Her album ‘Spilt T’ has been successfully gaining attention with the single 'I'm Done' reaching number one on the AMRAP regional charts.

We’re super excited to have Talitha Jae sharing her talents with us pre-show and at Beer Break at PechaKucha Night Vol 31 on 16 August at the Tanks.
