My beautiful Husband and I as the 6th Major Arcana card, The Lovers.

In terms of Numerology mine and Scott's numbers align, meaning that we are on the same life path. When we met in 2016 and started our adventure together we were both in the year of The Lovers. The synchronicity in the timing of this union fueled an exhilarating year full of the passion of falling in love.

However this card indicates more than just the concept of finding a lover. It is a push to look within yourself and find deep acceptance and love for both the light and dark parts of your being. With this card we realise that every aspect of ourselves, including the traumatic and shameful memories deserve love and forgiveness. Only with self respect, self admiration and self love can we become capable of loving another and expect to maintain healthy and happy relationships. 💖❤️💓💞

My wonderful husband as the poetic Temperance. The 14th card in the Major Arcana.

This is not a puritanical card of abstinence, but the figure of an alchemist. He sits on the earth with his feet in the waters of the unconscious. Inspired yet grounded. He is the personification of art itself and through his creativity he transforms himself and discovers beautiful inner realisations.

Temperance is considered to be a higher form of the Lovers card. It is a sign that our relationships will deepen and become more harmonious. Events are set to flow smoothly and there is magic in the air ✨✨

My beautiful friend Ace (who’s name within the tarot means one. The number of new beginnings and opportunities) as the very first card in the Major Arcana, The Magician.

Under the magician’s influence all endeavours that require willpower are manifested. This card reminds us that we are in complete power over our destiny. Conjure the magical strength within to actualise your desires.

Ace was one of the first people to teach me about the power of manifestation. His story of how he changed his entire avatar through will alone amazed me and lead me down a path to discover deeper spiritual practices.

My beautiful friend Sophie as the 2nd Major Arcana card The High Priestess. This was the first one I ever painted for the tarot project and for some reason I never posted the finished piece.

The Priestess is enthroned with shells and pearls as she sits calmly in the ever changing lunar tides. She is the psychic healer and possesses sacred, eternal feminine knowledge of birth, life and death. She is the maiden, the mother and the crone and embodies all of these archetypes through her wisdom, intuitive judgment and common sense.

This card indicates a strong destiny. Your affairs are safely in the lap of the goddess. Trust your intuition and allow yourself to be open to your feminine, receptive nature.

My wonderful friend Kaya as the 15th Major Arcana card The Devil.

It’s taken me a while to write a description for this painting as I’m having a hard time relating the meaning of the card to the kind, honest, raw, real lady I know Kaya to be. But she did insist that she is the Devil 😅

Prior to monotheistic religions, depictions of the devil where of a horned god. The playful wild-creature of the forest. In Ancient Greece he was Dionysus. This image of the devil would be more of a likeness to Kaya. However the tarots meaning is not based on playful and amusing interpretations. It is instead the sinister devil that points to confusion, dishonesty, theft and deceit.

The Devil is ruled by the horned goat Capricorn which is an earth sign, so devil conflicts often focus on greed and desire for material goods. Just as the devil can take many forms, the confusion of this card can manifest in many ways. Often this card surfaces in an adulterous relationship as it is a sign of poor communication and a lack of honesty.

My beautiful Son as The Sun. The 19th card in the Major Arcana.

All is illuminated underneath the radiant sun. Lies and deceit lay bare under its glorious rays. Although this should always be considered a positive card of clarity and direction it is in no way an indication of an easy journey. Choosing to pursue a life of truth and liberty is often uncomfortable and filled with obstacles and confrontation. However in my opinion it is the only life worth living and certainly what I want for River.

My beautiful friend Amy as the 11th major arcana card Justice.
The Goddess Justice represents a need for us to restore mental, physical and spiritual balance through harmonious action.

For me Amy was a perfect choice for this card as her dedication to her healing practices bring balance to peoples lives wherever she travels.

In her left hand she holds a sword. The symbol of air and continuous change and in her right hand a set of balanced scales.

Justice can also be viewed as adjustment as we move into an ever uncertain future. It could be an indication that a relationship new or old is worth pursuing. To achieve true harmony in a partnership strive for the most honest solution. This will often require generous compromise, but the reward of a bond strengthened is worth it.

My wonderful friend Harry as the contemplative Hermit.
This painting took me a long time to complete and was an emotional journey trying to accurately portray Harry’s emotional state at the time the photo was taken, two days before he went to prison. Anyone who knew Harry in the two years before this would have beared witness to his complete transformation of lifestyle. His dedication to inner healing through meditation, yoga, sobriety and hard work was powerfully inspiring.
He had completely reformed himself before the sentencing and yet his acceptance of the situation gave him strength. To accept the Hermits way leads to wisdom. 🕯✨

Beautiful Jordan as The Hanged Man.
The twelfth card in the Major Arcana is ruled by Neptune, god of the ocean.

This card is a symbol for the ultimate sacrifice. All avenues have been exhausted. We can take this to mean that some things within our personal lives must be sacrificed in order to create new options for growth or view it as the personification of an archetype of the dying god, the divine masculine who sacrifices his life so that others may live. This card could perhaps seem relevant when considering parenthood, both with dealing with the grief of losing our parents and with contemplating the sacrifices that are needed when starting a family.
