🚧 PATHWAY CLOSURE NOTICE 🚧

Tanks Promenade will be closed 2-14 July. An alternative walking route along Collins Avenue will be signposted during this time.

Tanks Arts Centre welcome Cairns Indigenous Art Fair (CIAF) for a range of free and ticketed and events from 7-12 July, with the famous Art Fair Showcase and Artisans Showcase open to the public from 10-12 July.

The Botanic Gardens Visitor Centre gift shop and Tank Sixty Four cafe will remain open throughout the full period.

Presenting a night of local talent and new music! 🎶

Cinematic art-pop collective, Driftwood, headline the evening with the launch of their debut EP, Atlantis.

Led by powerhouse vocalist Phoebe Jacobs and renowned producer Michael Godde, with Zane Stradling (guitar), Matt Gerdes (saxophone) and Leon Tussie (drums), Driftwood blends atmospheric electrics with live instrumentation to create immersive soundscapes.

Go back in time to the 60s and 70s in Cairns with Flickers of Time exhibition 📽🌴

📍 Tank 4 Gallery until Sunday 21 June.

Inspired by the recolourised Life in Australia series filmed in Cairns in 1964, this exhibition offers a small, intimate glimpse into everyday life. It doesn’t try to tell a complete history, but instead gathers fragments – quiet routines, fleeting encounters, and familiar scenes – that hint at what it felt like to be in Cairns at that time.

The exhibition also includes works from the Cairns Civic Collection of the era, offering a window into local histories and perspectives. Complementing these are photographs from the Cairns Museum, capturing the everyday simplicity and quiet beauty of life at the time.
