Our second artist exhibiting in our windows this August is one of our own - Zafiro Fernández .

““Life is a journey. Heaven is reality. Every gift is given from above to bless others.”

Zafiro Fernández has had an internationally recognised art career spanning three decades. Her pieces reflect not only her artistic vision, but also a deeply personal journey of faith, healing and transformation. She describes painting as entering a quiet, sacred place, where she feels guided beyond her own abilities.

Art remains one of Zafiro Fernández’s greatest passions. Through her paintings, she hopes to inspire others to reflect on their own journey, discover hope, and deepen their relationship with God.

‘Art has the power to transform spaces into sanctuaries of the soul’

This August brings new artists to our windows and our first we have the pleasure of introducing is Meike Simon.

Her art speaks best from her own words,

“I draw inspiration from the human spirit and the ever-changing landscapes of North Queensland to create abstract mixed media art that speaks to life’s complexities. Each crack and texture in my work tells a story about the difficulties we encounter and the beauty that results from conquering them. The power within vulnerability as a catalyst for strength.”

Meike uses layers of texture in her pieces to create depth and boldness, reflecting the earth and all its detail. Her work evokes an emotional reconnection to our natural world and aims to embody resilience through courage and grace.

Why?

Artists@Work is truely a gallery run by artists, for artists - and what do artists do? Paint and create all day long !! Our gallery is a fully functioning active studio alongside the pieces on the walls - and that’s what makes us stand out. Any day of the week, or weekend, when you pop into the gallery, you’ll be greeted by one of the resident artists themselves who will be using the space to create the pieces that will eventually adorn the walls.

It’s simply a magical space to step into, so when you’re next in town, pop in and see what works are in progress !!

Happy Saturday A&W friends and family!
We are excited to share that we have openings available this year for both of our Plinth displays here in the gallery! These are for artists in our community to show their small artworks, ceramics and 3D pieces !

July has been filled with beautiful wildlife pieces from the highly acclaimed, internationally recognised artist Pete Marshall.

Former veterinarian turned wildlife artist, Pete creates breathtaking works inspired by Australia’s unique wildlife and the natural world. Pete has a repertoire of major acknowledgments including many domestic and overseas based art awards, international exhibitions and has sat on many prestigious judging panels across the globe. Her award-winning art is held in public and private collections across Australia and internationally, reflecting a lifelong commitment to conservation through creativity.

Pete actively use her art to advocate for wildlife, and has visited many conservation projects in remote places and has donated art work for their promotion and fund raising.

Visit the gallery this July to experience this exceptional exhibition and discover the beauty of nature through Pete’s eyes.
