Planet Corroboree - Byron Bay

Planet Corroboree - Byron Bay Family business since 2002.

A beautiful little ethical trader in the heart of Byron Bay, Australia with a lovely unique range of authentic Aboriginal artefacts, local, original arts, craft, jewellery, crystals, opals, homewares and gorgeous gifts. We support local Bundjalung Aboriginal artists and many indigenous businesses all over Australia, creating an opportunity for them to share culture with the world in a respectful,

honorable way. The friendships we have gained with them all is very rewarding preserving our passion for our business and the first peoples of this country.

Where it all began.
Growing up near Black Rocks in the Australian bush gave us a lasting respect for Country, culture, and nature…values that remain at the heart of Planet Corroboree today.

Over 24 years, we’ve been fortunate to work with incredible craftspeople whose work has become part of the Planet Corroboree family.

As some Elders and artisans reach a stage where they can no longer spend long hours collecting wood and carving artefacts, we feel a deep sense of sadness…not just because their work will no longer be shared, but more importantly because a generation is slowly passing into the Dreamtime.

A generation whose knowledge was passed down by Elders who lived traditional ways firsthand.

One such artist is Uncle Ossie Egan of the Muthi Muthi people. His handcrafted clapsticks and amazing burn work are so beautiful and carry the energy of culture.

We are honoured to have shared in his work. Only a few of Uncle Ossie’s clapsticks remain, each a rare piece of his craft.
We’ve some super special didgeridoos too which haven’t made it online yet. Message us if you’re interested 😊

Growing up in Yaegle country bordering Bundjalung NP we are blessed our journey in life has us still both so connected to this land. Planet Corroboree is what it is because of this relationship we have to the land. It’s a shop, but it’s an extension of us, and we are who we are because we grew up in this bush.
Deep love and respect.
As a child, when you grow up in the bush, it remains forever in your heart. It’s a part of you. You come and go but it’s like you never left. Part of the soul family of your life.

For over 15 years we have been offering these delightful soft toys and puppets made by Jozzies Australia, a small Australian business with a history dating back to the 1980s.

Jozzies is one of the few remaining toy makers still designing and producing in Australia, from cutting and sewing through to stuffing and finishing. What makes them even more unique is that each piece is made by just two people: the owner and one contractor.

Their focus on quality materials, safety, and durability really sets them apart, creating toys that can last for years and often across generations.

Their soft toys are thoughtfully designed to reflect real animals, especially Australian wildlife, with some even hand-painted for added detail and realism. They’re also widely used in educational play both in Australia and overseas.

These beautifully crafted Australian soft toys are a wonderful choice for anyone looking to support Australian-made products and a small business where every purchase truly makes a difference to someone’s livelihood.

For over 12 years, my stickers have been decorating cars all around the Byron Shire and beyond 🥰
Every sticker started as one of my original paintings, and I still love seeing them out in the world all these years later. A few weeks ago I got a message from a supplier we buy scarves off that he saw my sticker on a car in Sydney and then he received an order from me for Planet Corrobree. I love the synchronicity of that 💫

I’d love to know have you ever had one of my stickers? And if so, which one has been your favourite?

Just for fun over the next 2 weeks, pop into Planet Corroboree and mention this post for a free Becci sticker 💛
Or if you’re shopping online, use code BECCI and we’ll pop one in your order.

I may be away in far off lands at the moment but the birds and creatures of the land of my home will always and forever be so sacred in my heart.
