Today marks 12 months since the state of the art laser tag system went in. Huge difference to everyone's enjoyment, 2538 games later its going strong. Heartfelt gratitude to those who made this possible.
Another week has rolled around and its being a good week. Friday night we had Burnie Baptist Hockey Club U/13 and U/16 in for a pre season warm up event. Great group of young players and club who we donated a few vouchers to for a good sport award.
Saturday we had a couple of standard parties, a private birthday celebration and donated some vouchers for the Burnie Basketball Club Tasmanian junior basketball league top presentation and a few more for another good sports style of award.
Sunday morning at we are back at it with a another private birthday party in the morning with another standard party and escape room later in the day.
Next week we will be closed for the Easter break,
Hoping to do a few more update style posts as we come into the school holidays.

While we have had a fairly busy afternoon at In The Zone with 3 birthday parties and Queenstown scout troop in, we found a bit of time to get the High School artwork up. Looks really cool and thank you to the staff and students who worked on it.

Good afternoon...
Just a quick update, we are (thankfully) fairly busy for the next couple of weekends so advanced bookings would help us out (message or phone).
Sadly over Easter we wont be open - mainly in preparation of the upcoming school holidays.

Just a few words that Iโve tried to write a few times but struggled to find the right combination of letters that make sense. March 24 seems so long ago now when we had to close the doors due to government regulation - but it was time. Before long the entire coast was in lock-down with the hospital closed and things were looking pretty bleak for us in the Northwest. But this passed, due to the hard work of the health system, leadership and us, as in all of us working together. All those community groups (grow gather and give, Salvos to name but a few working behind the scenes done some amazing things in an uncertain time. All those front-line service workers who often remain invisible were putting their own safety on the line - the cleaners, the shop assistants to ensure things kept ticking over. The health staff who had to isolate, the teachers (and their students) who was thrust into the world of on-line learning. There are so many that done so much for us all, that got us to where we are now.
Gradually things got better, as the virus wave receded the lock down got lifted in stages. We were busy behind the scenes hopeful that we would soon reopen. The odd message of support was greatly appreciated As things eased we were busy planning how to run a COVID safe business amidst serving packs and the odd splash of paint. But at the same time we were worried about what the economic problems meant for business across the coast including us.
Then it was time to open, to put those plans into action- and opening day was a tough day. It took longer to get things happening, longer to disinfect the packs that I thought. But from that long Saturday we learnt and we think weโve found the balance between safety and having a great time. Its hard to describe the joy on the face of a young child hanging out for a get together at the zone with his mates, that long awaited catch up that could now happen. Down the track we will start running the family nights again, a date night (for those who want to leave the kids to some else devices) student league and a few other special events as well. But sadly as I finish typing this, the ABC Blog has just said 238 new cases in Victoria, so its not over yet.
Special thanks must go to our landlord who understood where we were at, to those working behind the scenes and most of all to you the customers who have come back. Your support is what puts a smile on my face when I come into work.
