Congratulations to Jane Longhurst on her Churchill Fellowship. Thirty-six years making theatre in Lutruwita/Tasmania, and now heading around the world to investigate how audience integration into making theatre can build community engagement.

Fascinating topic. We can't wait to see what Jane brings home.

As Tasmania's state arts festival, Ten Days on the Island is a member of the Confederation of Australian International Arts Festivals (CAIAF), alongside the major festivals across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. Today CAIAF announced a new Chair.

Congratulations Katrina Sedgwick OAM.

Katrina has served as the inaugural Director and CEO of Melbourne Arts Precinct Corporation (MAP Co), overseeing the delivery of Australia's largest arts infrastructure project and the management of Federation Square. Her distinguished career includes leadership roles at ACMI, ABC Arts and numerous arts and screen festivals, and she currently serves on the ABC Board.

She takes over from Richard Evans AM, who has chaired CAIAF as a volunteer for twelve years. Thank you Richard.

We're thrilled to share that Ten Days on the Island has received a TasPorts Community Grant to support Rayakana Milaythina (Song of Country).

This support will help us bring meaningful cultural gatherings to communities across Lutruwita/Tasmania as part of our 2027 Festival.

A huge thank you to TasPorts for their longstanding partnership and commitment to investing in projects that strengthen community connections and celebrate our island's stories.

We can't wait to share more in the coming months.
